What do you think of all these kpop idols starting youtube channels?

Income is like the one aspect in which being an idol or artist isn't that much different from a regular job. I can't blame for them for wanting get in on that Youtube ad money.

Couple possible factors:

1. Being your own boss, being in charge of your content: probably pretty appealing to people who have been under kpop contracts (which are notorious for being restrictive and horrible)

2. Pre-established fanbase: even if you don't have a lot of individual popularity, there will be fans to run and support you right from the get-go, so it's not so awkward launching your own platform

3. Seems like BJs are pretty huge in Korea and youtubing is kind of analogous to that?

4. Income

5. They're used to being in front of a camera, so they've got an edge when it comes to producing their own content. They're already trained to speak nicely, smile for the camera, do things that fans will like, etc. I think it would be a natural transition
