A now-viral video of the 21-year-old star on a film set shows her blowing her nose into a tissue before passing it to her assistant, who hesitated before taking it and tucking it into his bag as there were no bins around. He later handed her a new piece of tissue. 

While some netizens argued that it is part and parcel of her assistant’s job, some felt that Chaoyue had treated him with disrespect. A number of netizens also commented that her actions were unsanitary and that she should have been more socially responsible during this COVID-19 pandemic.
