This was not very good. I was expecting the group to be more boyish(?) but they just went with watered down Monsta X. Not even all those Minhee parts could redeem it for me. Surprised that there was so little Hyeongjun. I mean I know his voice is grating to listen to but he is a good dancer and popular so it feels like they underused him. I do like the rap parts though.

I thought debut should ve been more Seventeen style but sounds like Monsta X b side inspired in Shine forever or Beautiful

But Jungmo, Minhee and Allen shined

I thought they were gonna get a bright concept too but tbh, I don't blame them because bgs with cute concept rarely do well. If I'm not mistaken Boyfriend that was from Starship too had a cute concept (especially at the beginning) and they never had half of the popularity that Monsta X has.

it looks like a low budget mv they could've spend more money on the aesthetics and visuals, the song is generic but if they put more efforts in the music video production this debut wouldn't look as basic.

Tbf Minhee and Hyeongjun did Flash in X1 that's not much different from this concept (the same edm based bg song with dark/edgy MV), and Jungmo did Attention in pdx that's pretty mature. But yeah, I wish they had debuted with something more fresh but they probably wanted to secure more i-fans since the beginning because they were lacking that.

bright and cute can be different tho. they didn't have to go "boyfriend cute"..they could of did something till strong and youthful, but a bit brighter

 

anyways the song isn't terrible, just generic. safe. they're still rookies so they have plenty of time to grow

You mean something like Wanna One's Energetic? Yeah, I guess that can be considered bright/youthful, but not "cutesy". A lot of people wanted them to do something like Ippeo Ippeo (one of the produce x original songs) that's the cutesy type but in my opinion the older members, like Serim, Allen and Woobin don't suit that at all either. So I think something like Energetic or TxT's Run Away could've been better: not dark/edgy but not cutesy either, just bright and youthful.

I dont understand Starship at all. why debut new boygroup with this kinda concept when you already have Monsta X who have exactly the same concept. totally illogical.

The chorus really throws you off. And the weird English words just thrown in there is weird. I kinda hate when groups just throw nonsense English words if there for shits n giggles.
