No she ended up paying a big fine and was able to go free.

Her career was still mostly destroyed, so now Chinese stars are a bit more careful with paying their taxes (scaring the entertainment industry was the goal of the government, it wasn't really useful to keep her in jail after they got the message across).

Thing is, everyone in the entertainment industry was doing the same thing as she did - double contracts that allowed them to evade taxes as long as nobody got their hands on the real ones.

FBB was the one who got denounced publicly for it (as a form of personal vendetta, not pureness of heart), but it was an industry-wide practice, and the reason why FBB was struck so severely was because the government wanted to show to other celebrities they better stop their tax evasion schemes, or the same could happen to them.
She was a scapegoat. She didn't destroy her own career, the person who denounced her did.
