The way my degree director handles the situation with the covid is... ugh...

We were supposed to have exams on the 26-27 of May. But due to the covid-19, the exams were changed into assignments of minimum 5 pages each. I have absolutely no problem with that... The only problem is... they just gave us the subjects for our assignments... And we have to finish them between the 20 of APRIL and the 7th of May (one deadline every 3 days, like the first is for the 20th, the second is for the 23rd, etc).

They give us less than a month to do those 5 assignments of at least 5 pages each and on totally different subjects. And they all are research subjects that need a lot of reading to do. Including ONE THAT IS A GROUP WORK?! While we're on lockdown?! Working in group is already hard enough and they expect us to do it wholly through online convo...

And one of my classmates asked why the deadline was so early, since we were supposed to have our exams at the end of may, why would it be a problem to put a deadline at the end of may for those too?

And the master degree director replied "it's okay it's not like you have anything else to do during the lockdown, but I was kind I put a deadline every 3 days!"

I'm quite pissed I had to rant sorry. 🙃

But rant over I have to get to work now. 🙃

Good luck! It baffles me how some people can be so unreasonable in assuming that everyone would be ok in managing through with the same situation when everyone has their own priorities and other things to worry about. Regardless, hope you will manage well~

Yeah. And it's okay for me as I don't have that many priorities (just some work there and there for my internship mostly, and things I work on for OH), but I have several classmates that have kids. They have to homeschool their kids, take care of them, etc. It's gonna be really hard on them to manage everything.

And thank you!

It's good to see the change to make it easy for students but then at the same time putting more workload assuming everyone is free, that's ridiculous.

Idk if I'm the rebel type, I would have make record a video message showing what I do especially when I have kids around to school and feed them while taking care of the household. Maybe it knocked a little bit sense to him.

But I hope it doesn't stress you out so much. Much luck nelkie! You'll do well! 😊

My classmates that have kids already brought up their concerns but I don't think they'll go to the extent of making a video lmao.

Thank you ♥️, I'll probably end up going deadline to deadline and lack sleep for a bit but welp, I'm used to it by now uhuh

Well if it needs such measure, I mean, why not. Especially if your director is "that" aware about the students' welfare  :imstupid:

But well who ever get so much sleep during their uni years anyway  :derp:
