A B-tier coed trio, a successful rookie soloist and a ballad group(that many did not even recognized as part of BIGHIT), does not make BIGHIT brand any less nugu(unknown) then it was back then. BANG PD brand was bigger then his own company. He was known as a producer with hits. However his company wasn't. BIGHIT did not have a brand in Korea. BIGHIT had no power, connections or much resources. Which is as you said why the very few artist they had left. The company was way to nugu and small in the industry to help them progress.

Actually, It was not a story initially told by BIGHIT. BIGHIT didn't "showcase" BTS struggles much early on. Marketing wise BIGHIT didn't want BTS to come off as "poor" or "nugu" which is probably partially why they wore a lot of knock off designer clothes and accessories. K-media and other industry people use to describe BIGHIT as a small and basically nugu. More importantly there was not many trending articles or headlines about BIGHIT. The majority of reports that are written nowadays about BIGHIT growth mostly say BIGHIT struggled and was basically unknown (nugu) in the past.  The KPOP community use to also. Some even used "nugu" as a drag. It wasn't till after BTS huge success in 2016, that suddenly "edgy" fans started to claim that BIGHT was never nugu lol. Some people are so adamant to prove that BIGHIT didn't struggle and wasn't near the bottom (irrelevant/unknown) in the Korean entertainment industry.

Again, 2AM had already been branded as a JYPE group. Most people still considered them as so too, since JYPE themselves sort of did too by including them in the "family". MISS A was also part of another company AQ Entertainment. However just because MISS A was so successful does not make AQ any less unknown. Most people, even today, don't even realize that MISS A was under AQ. Don't even know the name AQ. This is exactly the same with 2AM and BIGHIT back in the days. BIGHIT brand was nugu (unknwon). Most intellectuals and rationalist will say that it was BTS success that finally put BIGHIT on the map. Anyone who say otherwise is lying to themselves ><

edit: 2AM was co-managed by BIGHIT. So they were not even fully under BIGHIT. No wonder JYPE still claimed them while BIGHIT sort of took the back seat.

Just sounds like you two have different definitions of "nugu" to me.

I'd say Big Hit was more like a lower-mid tier company. They were far from the big 3 or even Cube/DSP/Starship/etc but they were better-known than Happyface (a similar company in some ways), not to mention all the unknown agencies.
