When is the best time to wash your hair for the health of your scalp?

a) Wash in the morning to get rid all of the oil that piled up overnight
b) Wash in the evening to get rid of all the dust that piled up during the day

-If we're talking about the health of our scalp, then the answer is b). But I wash my hair either way so it doesn't really matter.

-I wash it at night so that I could sleep more in the morningㅋㅋㅋ

-I know it's so much better to wash it at night, but I just want to sleep so bad that I don't have enough time to dry my hair. So I prefer to wash it in the morning.

-I wash my hair before bed because I don't have the strength to get up early just to wash my hair...

-Lately, I wash my hair before going to bed. But I wash it twice a day in the summer...ㅜㅜ

-I can't go to sleep without washing my hair...

-It gets all oily in the morning if I wash it at night...

-I don't care, why does it even matterㅋㅋㅋㅋ I just wash it every time I feel like itㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I wash it in the morning since I'm a lazy ass. Or I just don't wash my hair at all until I have to wash it.

-I have thick and long hair so I have to wash it at night. I would have to wake up early if I wash it in the morning because it takes two hours just to dry and do my hair.

-I wash it right before going to bed! Or else I'll wake up with zits or stuffs like that in the morning.

-Both. Yes, I wash my hair twice a day. Once in the morning and once before going to bed.

-The second option with no doubt! Imagine all the dust piling up in your hair after a long day, and you go to bed with them??

I hate showering in the morning unless I'm on vacation somewhere warm

I live pretty far north and for 70% of the year the mornings are too cold for me to function. I hate getting wet when it's cold

When I have time. Curly hair..you don't really have to wash them often. They are dry af and consume all the products. For real, everything I put in disappears somewhere if that's not some heavy hairspray.

I was just thinking from response no one has curly hair.   If you wash hair at night in winter you would wake up sick (I know cause I did it and had flu like symptoms).  Curly hair takes a while to air dry. Unless you can use a hair dryer which I cant cause my hair will look like  a frizzy mess. So morning time for me

Where are my curly haired people at because curly natural hair won't apply to these responses in original post.

All curly/wavy haired people I know rarely ever wash hair at night. Most on the morning because:

1) Curly hair takes awhile to dry so washing at night then leaving it to dry overnight. Especially during winter is asking for a cold or stuffy nose.

2) It is not a quick process to wash curly/wavy hair so doing it at end of the day when you are tired is a no go

3) Air dry because it is much healthier for your hair/scalp health versus using heat to dry. Heat makes hair frizzy, breaks off easier because dryer takes all natural oils out of hair and scalp.

4) You use warm/lukewarm water to wash hair and cold to rinse and condition it.  Again having that last rinse of your hair being ice cold in summer is refreshing. In winter it is painful. so again nightwashing would be horrible.

I personally wash 2x a week maybe more depends on activity level during the summer and 1x a week during winter.  In winter I use blow dryer to straightness my hair before I use the flat iron/straightener. This only happens during winter cause air drying is impossible for me its too cold.

In summer during week I get up early I do a quick wash , apply products and style. It dries through out the day. 2nd or 3rd time usually on weekend I make a whole spa day of it. Give myself a facial, shave/wax or give myself a manicure or pedicure. In winter I do the same minus shaving. I never shave in the winter.

Morning on off days, but no way in hell would I be able to wash it in the morning before work.

It's already difficult to wake up at the 3rd alarm but as someone with rather long thick wavy-to-curly hair how much earlier should I wake up ? And then how am I supposed to dry it ? Drying it completely takes a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile like a reaaally long time, while going out with wet hair is asking for a bad cold the next day in my case (yes I'm the kind of person who is obligated to wear socks while sleeping and who absolutely can't go out with wet hair even in summer because she catches a bad cold)
