June 15th local time, during the 2014 Brazil World Cup Group C match at Brazil’s Recife Pernambuco Arena, the Ivory Coast team faced off against the Japan team. Thought ultimately defeated by their opponent, the Japanese players bowed to their fans in the stands after the end of match, leaving a deep impression upon people. Moreover, the character/behavior of the Japanese fans watching the match also received praise, when they stayed after the match wearing raincoats braving the rain to pick up the garbage littered inside the stadium.

Only by having the courage to face one’s shortcomings, can one gradually improve oneself. Both [Japan and China] are in Asia, Japan can be a mirror for us…

But I will still upvote this!

What’s there to compare (for China with Japan)? Can’t compare now and still can’t compare in the future.

Why is NetEase’s attitude biased towards Japan?
We also have volunteers, who also pick up trash, but how come we don’t see [NetEase] giving publicity to that?

Because [the trash] was discarded by Japanese people, naturally they themselves will pick it up. The football fans of other countries didn’t litter, so naturally they didn’t need to pick them up. —— Japanese people also know of their negative image in the world, so they use such actions to win the approval of the world. But disguised wolves are still wolves.

You can not like Japan, even dislike Japan, but we can’t deny this kind of gap, this disparity in civilization [specifically, civic consciousness].

Being abroad means you will represent your own country. It doesn’t matter if you are a star, a dignitary, or an ordinary person, be mindful of your wods, actions, and bearing. Don’t always be thinking of places for plaza dancing.

Chinese fans cleaned up the stands after watching games a few years ago, what’s the big deal? Using the [good] characters/behavior of Japanese sports fans to disparage the characters of all Chinese people, that’s truly sad!!!!! Go to Baidu and enter: Evergrande fans pick up litter after game, and to look at the behavior of Chinese fans a few years ago. Seeing Japanese fans today clean the stands, some Chinese make a big deal about character as if some big point has been made. Talk about laughable and sad!!!!!

Putting aside history, the character of Japanese people indeed are admirable, and worth our countrymen learning from.

This sounds like some of my chinese friends, it's like they can't say anything positive about Japan/japanese people without also having to point out how much they still hate them
