blinks don't hate him because he never talks about BP because BP are jobless in promotions and cb.  At the time he tweeted that, some armys were blaming BP because of the deleted views, so some blinks thought that tweeet was directed to BP-Blinks and that's it

Yeah, clearly the tweet shows nothing but love and support directed at him.
"Some armys were blaming BP because of the deleted views". How does that make sense ?
So you guys just assumed that he was talking about Blackpink when he said "other acts". Good to know.

to be completely honest, i thought for army, reputation is good reputation. if he can hype bts up for their music and have them gain popularity in the west, then i'd think that was good enough for them. i literally didn't know army thought the same as me, but i guess i was wrong.

Hes been disliked forever. One of the main  catalysts was a podcast from a couple years ago.

Hes not a very well-liked guy

I said some blinks thought he was referring to BP/Blinks because at that time some armys were saying that yt gave the views to BP so some idiot sent him those comments, just like other fandoms were saying that their faves also had views deleted etc...but obviously that person went too far

And yeah, like I said,  in general blinks don't hate him or like him, the last time he tweeted about BP was when they promoted in the US 1 year ago, so there's nothing to like or hate

lmao stans are so fucking weird. I don't like the dude either, but why waste all this energy insulting him with homophobic slurs?? Or insulting him in general? You just look like a bunch of crazy teenagers when you trash talk him using ad hominems instead of actually addressing the things he's done that you have an issue with. Tbh, in the grand scheme of things this guy is just a drop in the ocean; kpop fans overestimate the impact he has on the public's opinion on kpop. There's really no need to react so excessively, all it does is strengthen the idea that he's a victim and that kpop fans are delusional. Let's be better

I don't support the disgusting slur.

However the main issue with Jeff seems to be he's clout chaser nowadays. Yes, he started off as a big supporter of Kpop in the West. Way back when Kpop wasn't a money making business for people like him. He helped very much. A part of spreading "Hallyu", behind the scenes. However now that Kpop has become so big in the West, including his brand, it feels like he's sometimes only after making money and strengthen his brand. I mean, I get it it's his job, But sometimes the "fake-ness" is a bit to much.

OT: I will say, I do think he genuinely like some of the groups he writes about...but the money and clout is still more important at the end of the day - which is why he sometimes come off as two-faced. It's hard to trust him.

sis, this bs tbh...really?...😆

you're one of the main people that have been following bts and armys activities since forever. i still remember when you were a fan. you already know armys don't just sit around taking crap. heck we sometimes blow up the smallest things when others insult bts. kpop community (including you, i'm sure) have called the fandom out for being sensitive and victimizing many of times...

and that's where you're wrong...

nowadays, jeff benjamin brand is a lot bigger then you think. it has grown so much over the years. for kpop, he isn't a nobody anymore. he's like the main go to guy that many kpop companies (and even some western companies) call.

many media articles about kpop groups achievements in the west usually reference him. korean news do too. anything he say about kpop is usually covered in korea.

there's a reason why the mods have been deleting mine and ethereal's comments, so i don't really need to discuss with someone else on this topic. i already gave two cents of my mind. however i will say this: as someone who follows a.c.e, i'd love for people to talk about them so people can hear how good (subjective but whatever) their music is. i'd guess that's what people usually would think as well for their favourite group/band. i hated when jeff benjamin wrote an article about a.c.e performing at the oscar party because he was click baiting bts. a few weeks later he tweeted about a.c.e when an anti-fan almost killed them, tweeting and acting as if they were revolutionary within the kpop industry. it all depends on who is spreading their music in the media, which i actually agree with ethereal on, but it wasn't something that i knew army would think as well. i haven't been an army for 3 years how so i have no idea how your fandom perceive journalists and entertainment shows in the west as, i can only talk from my standpoint.

EDIT: i just saw tweets and comments of what jeff benjamin have said about bts and other kpop groups and i literally didn't know until now. what a pos, ew.

LOL Armys are no different then other normal people...or fandoms. Tho i know some kpop fans like to think we're some different breed. Fans are not just going to let someone talk shit about a group. As you saw in your edit, Jeff has done the same thing with BTS. He writes nice things then turns around and write something negative. After BTS blew up, he (and Tamar) had a habit of dragging BTS in other people articles in order to uplift other Kpop artists who tried to break into Western market after them. That's why that story about a.c.e isn't surprising to me. For some odd reason, there are many Kpop journalist who love to pit groups against each other. Maybe for clicks? idk. In my opinion, they're part of the reasons for some of the petty fanwars in the past (one example: Blinks vs Armys)
