BTS - 'Black Swan' and 'ON' Comeback Stage on M COUNTDOWN 200227 (+FANCAMS)

I prefer the Black Swan stage to the ON stage but then I feel guilty about all the birds which where plucked for those feathers.  ON stage is definitely better with Korean dancers.  The faceless thing Korean back up dancers do suits the choreo more and it reminds me of anime and video game background characters.  That's how the directors of Western performances should have worded it to the Western back up dancers:  "You are faceless.  You are a video game background character." They didnt convey it correctly to the Western dancers, leading to the aesthetic of the choreography being compromised.

ot: why do you believe real bird feathers were used?

They look real to me.  Is there a way to tell if they are real or fake?  At times like this I wish I had studied material sciences.

Since this is off-topic and long-ish:

Spoiler

Edit:  Do realistic feather substitutes exist yet?  I got this excerpt from a 2018 fashion industry article addressing animal cruelty:

"Then again, the ethics of feather usage argument may be moot. Technological advancements that allow scientists to bioengineer a steak without ever having to kill a cow may exist in our near future. "We have this new technology that is able to replicate everything from hamburgers to leather to silk without the use of animals," says Byrne. "You get to bypass the farm and the slaughterhouse entirely. I think that that's where we're headed, and that's going to be good news for everyone."

Based on this statement I would infer artificial feathers good enough for textile design did not exist in 2018.

I have seen artificial feathers used in home decor but they are usually stiff, not fluffy.

i don't think there is a way to tell the difference. especially with all the lights and editing on the photos/footage

lol which is why the assumption was odd ngl

I was actually making the assumption there was not such thing as fluffy artificial feathers.  😅
