7 is selling strongly without the aid of a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer, nor any merchandise bundles, as has become the norm for many major releases

I dont see how i AM setting them up. They debuted at number One and they got a sucessful tour those are just facts.

When DJ Khaled gave away CDs when selling energy drinks his sales were disqualified and superm's bundles werent and personally i dont see anything wrong with capitalizing on people who buy concert merch considering if they are going to the concert they are going to obviously consume the music or do u guys wanna disqualify physical CDs entirely because Im pretty sure most armies dont buy their CDs to actually listen to it.

Listen, I like SuperM (hey, I'm attending their concert in Paris tonight, so I think I can call myself a fan ?). But people buying a physical CD for the included merch is not the same as people getting a free digital copy of the same album for every separate piece of band merch they order. If the Billboard rules for merch bundles had been the same as they are now, they would never have sold as much.

As much as I like BTS, let's be real, they could try to sell anything (coffee, toilet paper...) that it would do well and be sold out.

Some fans don't care about the contents anymore, they're just buying because it's BTS.

The preorders were HUGE but fans had no idea what the album looks like or what the music would be like...

Good for them if they can sell without offering something (even though that's not completly true when you see  Weverse is doing some contest where you have to buy 8 bts albums to try to win a signed polaroid / try to win a vip ticket with the code you can find inside their album... Let's not even talk about how you now have to pay more to have a good ticket concert) but no need to shame other groups/idols either. Companies are doing everything they can to sell their stuff. And if it works, good for them.

That being said, I've always found the whole superm marketing strategy "buy a ticket concert, have a free album" ridiculous.

But nothing surprises me anymore, it's just sad how people care more about numbers than music

Black Swan, Shadow, Ego say hello

and don't forget the photobooks, aka the main reason why fans buy kpop albums

Also, there's something called trust . Fans trust BTS. They've been releasing quality music for 7 years, why would they stop now?

Go and question apple users why they pre-order apple products

Go and question readers why they pre-order books from their favorite writers

A shirt from superm is 35 Bucks what makes u think they didnt include the price on it and just called ir free.

Anyway Billboard rules didnt even Change much u just cant call them free anymore but they didnt ban concert bundles and they are just part of the ticket price ir part of the price for the merch.

And u  had to redeem the downloads for them to count só if a fan bought a shirt and was only really interested in that they probably didnt redeem it. The majority of the sales were still physicall.

Yikes

Actually I'm PROUD that BTS didn't debut with #1 be it Billboard or other charts.

It shows that BTS achieved their status step by step aka "baby steps", working hard and shedding blood, sweat and tears.

Nothing was given to them by default, for the sake of power behind them, through payola or shady shenanigans.

BTS had to give their 1000% to get where they are. And they're still doing their best, working hardest to maintain their top position. Unlike other celebrities who do bare minimum to keep clout and hype alive, surviving thanks to powers behind them, half-assing their job like they're doing a favor to the world.

To be honest, I wish BTS did bundles. I hope someday the boys will do that and it will be the end for the rest of the industry. But I guess it's a smth unreal 😞😞

at the end of the day none of these bundle groups can call themselves even anywhere near the same league as BTS unless they can beat Wings, a top 30 result with NOTHING but digital sales and streaming, no merch, no tours, no physicals, no US label, nada. Just fans buying their faves' albums without having to be begged, scammed or tricked into doing it. And even Her's first week sales mostly excluded physicals because of distribution problems and they landed in the top 10.

Sm pretty much created the kpop industry out of nothing u twink.

And bighit is literally going around buying companies as if they have never done anything shady.

U are seriously dellusional and have a clearly Extreme case of army victim mentality.
