7 is selling strongly without the aid of a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer, nor any merchandise bundles, as has become the norm for many major releases

I mean western albums are basic af whilst kpop ones have collectibles, etc. so it isnt surprising they have to be desperate to get pure sales by offering digital album per merch bought

Ngl its impressive, But unlike some other western-pop fans. I dont care about pure sales too much, given how much of music industry these days is based off like, streaming and etc. the success is what matters, not the way they get the album units. any in contention at the top is successful&rich, anyway.

superm m debuted at number #1 with their debut that's what i meant.

superm only got that #1 because they sold a shit ton of merch bundles

If they hadn't done bundles that debut wouldn't have sold much more than the average big Korean release, even with the ton of promo Capitol did.

And actual rookies would not have sold that much whatever the tactic used, SuperM only sold that much because all the individual members already had a fanbase. It's only a debut album from a technical perspective.

When DJ Khaled gave away CDs when selling energy drinks his sales were disqualified and superm's bundles werent and personally i dont see anything wrong with capitalizing on people who buy concert merch considering if they are going to the concert they are going to obviously consume the music or do u guys wanna disqualify physical CDs entirely because Im pretty sure most armies dont buy their CDs to actually listen to it.

Because the thread isn't just about getting a number 1 on BB, nor about debuting with it. But about doing so without bundles. You are sounding embarrassing in this thread.

" As has become the norm for many major releases" was that not comparing it with releases that used bundles?
