One of the best debuts in the last 2 years tbh

If you're interested, Changmin was in BOYS24 pre-debut. He slayed and was shafted there undeservedly so too.

One of the members was in Boys24? I thought none of them had pre-debut exposure.

Nope. Both Heechan and Changmin (E-chan) were on BOYS24, with Changmin being a prominent member making it to the promotional group (although not the final, permanent group IN2IT) and even had CFs with Unit Yellow coz they were arguably the best performance/well-rounded unit.

wow I didn't have any idea because I didn't really watch Boys24. That explains why there was so many people mentioning Changmin in youtube comments.

I'm glad he got this chance. This group looks super promising tbh.

Yeah he deserves the spotlight after being shafted by Mnet's shitty management. B24 went through so much crap only to be overshadowed by W1 in the end which was poor planning on Mnet's part. I wish them the best of luck, their mini is actually very solid. Samsung is a fire song to show off their rapline (as if Sorry Mama didn't haha).

I don't know that much about B24 but they were like a big group split in sub-units or something like that? And then they chose the final group (IN2IT) among the members of the different sub-units? I read something like that.

Yeah, their album is super solid. I wish they could win some ROTY but it's gonna be super hard because Treasure and Starship nbg (plus possibly SM nbg) are debuting this year and those are much more hyped by kpop fans and the public since they're from bigger companies.

The entire concept was horrible, they forced entire units to be eliminated, and also had single eliminations from each unit forcing the members themselves to eliminate someone (cruel). Wild card revivals were also a thing adding to the confusion. It got worse post-TV show because during the promotion period for the "group" BOYS24, the concerts they held were back-to-back, they were overworked and slowly faded into the background especially when P101 aired. Then Jinseok among a few others quit because of it. I'm so glad Jinseok is solo now doing his own thing... it truly wasn't even worth it to debut in IN2IT if you see why Sunghyun left the group (company is shitty).

As they say, it's not about who gets to the headstart, but who is able to maintain steady growth. So ROTY is but a merely pre-determined award, which shouldn't matter in the longrun for them, if Brave learns from their past mistakes.

WTF. They forced the members to eliminate a member of their own unit?? That's beyond cruel, even worse than produce. I was planning to watch it someday but now I don't think I'll ever watch it 😕 So the entire group was BOYS24 and after that they chose the final group? Everything sounds like a mess and IN2IT is not even well managed. No wonder Sunghyun left. I saw they sold like 600 albums with their last comeback and that's beyond tragic.

You're right about ROTY but still I'd like them to win at least an award as a recognition.

Yep it's beyond sad what these boys had to go through. So the show had 49 boys, 27 of them promoted under BOYS24 after the tv show, and then 9 of them were chosen for IN2IT. Sungho left coz of unfound bullying controversies (he's in 1Team now, so he saved himself LOL).

MMO is a mess and a half, I don't know why they didn't transfer them to YMC like W1. Their debut sold 30K which was solid but the delays between the comebacks and general sucky management have made them go downhill pretty quickly.

OMG?? A 1team member was in BOYS24 too? I had no idea o_o. It seems that a lot of them are spread everywhere in other groups/companies/etc but good for them if they're at least doing better now. I actually like 1team a bit, their last comeback was fantastic and their concept/sound was pretty unique imo. Also the Jinseok boy you mentioned before...is he the same that went to under19 later or it's another one?

30k is actually a really decent number. For comparison, under19 was a similar "flop" show and the winning group (1the9) only sold 20k of their first album and around 12k of the second.

Naw Oh Jinseok is different, he's known as OBON. Doha also went solo using the same name.

BOYS24 off-shoot groups so far:

The Man BLK

D1CE

1Team (Sungho & Haejun, who also was supposed to debut in MIX9)

DKB

MY.st (still predebut)

No idea that some D1CE members were in BOYS24 too. I only know that Jinyoung was both in produce S2 and then ranked #1 on mixnine.

Haejun? Is that Rubin?? Since you said he was supposed to debut in Mix9... I thought Rubin was his real name.

No idea about BLK and My.st. But it seems at least some members are having another chance after the mess of BOYS24.

Oh and Enoi too I almost forgot.

Haejun is indeed Rubin, legally changed his name to that in 2017. Kpopinfo114 has some deets :)

Now that you say it...I saw some people under Enoi's Cheeky MV saying they were happy for "Kyuhyun" and I discovered it was the guy with light pink hair lol. So he was in BOYS24 too wow. I think I'll eventually watch the show. It's interesting when you recognize so many familiar faces before they debuted in other groups.

It's a shit show, if anything watch it for the performances and the talent (they had so much, a lot of it gone to waste though with bogus eliminations). Hongin's Sia Chandelier cover still is the best dance to ever grace K-Pop.
