BTS Jimin Goes Viral and Captivates Western Media with his Grammy Stage

BTS's Jimin only had a brief appearance in a joint stage for a song he wasn't even originally featured on, but the resident Recruiting and Trending Fairy really managed to make the most of it. 

Jimin was the only BTS member with over 2 million mentions (Jimin 1.45M and #JIMIN 509K)  in 57+ countries worldwide. 

Beyond his unique and vibrant vocals, Jimin caught the eye of various media outlets and influencers, even inspiring Paper Magazine to change their social media layout. 

Metro UK found his look so fetching, they even proclaimed that he deserved a grammy!

paper magazine has tweeted before about jimin. before they even worked with bts for a shoot. someone working for them is a huge fan. we don't know the age of the person or anything about their background who tweeted. in general, being a stan isn't just for "youth", so...

tae is hot. him and hobi got some attention on sns too. in general, all the members look great at the grammys . overall, i was really happy with the stylist

jimin has always been known for his aura. (the members have talked about it too) there's just something about his presence that attracts the public. it never fails

anyways, i knew there would be some noise here. anytime a non-official visual member gets attention in a group people flock...

body proportions, mannerism,charisma, and more all play a role to how some one is seen in the eyes of the public

I thought it was just in Korea when he tops the brand ranking and gallop polls, but even in the West he seems to capture the most attention.  I know Tae and Kook are also popular but its still a mystery to me why they aren't the front runners when it comes to non fans.

Simply because Jimin is the most charming of the bunch ? It's not about looks, it's about charisma, and his extremely flirty attitude. Not everyone will feel attracted of course, but they're a minority. "Straight men falling for Jimin" is basically a meme at this point.

There are many non-fans in the kpop community who like Tae and JK. The ideal kpop idol. Handsome, look like they're straight out of a manga.

Basically, among the other handsome members and other handsome Western male celebs, Jimin's image stands out.

 

In the West. Well, there's a lot at play here. In general, again, it's all about standing out. While all the BTS members are usually described as handsome..base on past accounts, Korea too, Jimin has been specifically noted for being the cutest (youthful) and pretty/sexy. Many of these media outlets have also met BTS up close and in person, so they have their opinions too. Jimin's duality and soft facial features are probably his biggest advantages compared to Tae/Kook. These two with big eyes, nose, and sometime described as looking half white by some fans. While Jimin is more "exotic" to Westerners. Even Bighit/stylist try to showcase Jimin's duality (cute, pretty and sexy) image as much as they can in concepts, fashion, make up and etc, now that they know it's really popular. Plus, although he's shorter then the others, he has one of the best body proportions in the group. So clothes fit and drape  nicely on him. The stylist can have more freedom with what they put on him. People almost never complain about his stage outfits.  (generally, he gets a lot attention for fashion too)

Controversial opinion: Last year a Western media outlet wrote a beautiful article about Yoongi's talent. With in it also talked a bit about the other members. Typical stuff. However, when it came to Jimin, he was described as “being the one everyone wants to fuck.” That's it.  The article was dragged by fans and they eventually removed that line. There's more to Jimin then just his physical appearance. However this is sort of relevant to what I'm saying. The writer was being honest. It's what he observed in the industry. In many cases, Jimin is the member that's the most sexualized.  By the fans, the company and the public. Even before BTS were big in the West. In a way, it's a big part of his popularity too.
