Eurovision shouldn't allow suits. was there any year where the favourite didn't actually win? Depends on what you mean with favorite if you mean the televote favorite then yes it was Italy in 2015 and Russia 2016 (both won the televote but lost on the jury vote). And not exactly based on televote, there are a lot of rumours and speculations on who's going to win before the grand final. Is Italy the favourite to win on jury's vote as well? Well on the communities I was on Italy was a favorite, Mans was a strong contender too. Italy was graded quite low on the juries, which is the only reason why they didn't win. I dont follow all years but i remember years ago some used to sing half in their language, half in english. For me it was beautiful? Represent and show others their country? Italy sings in their own language most of the time. Probably the only country (yes excuse the UK and Ireland oh and Aus) that sings in their own language consistently, oh france I forgot, spain not so much anymore. Portugal was like that too but they changed I guess. They are singing in English because this show is aiming to be more "global". Portugal sometimes sang half in portuguese, half in english so people would understand. I agree with you, the Netherlands (where I live) hasn't sent a dutch song in decades I believe and many other countries.
