Is Laneige overhyped products?

Recommended Posts

Many claimed that other products are better and laneige is a little pricey. Do anyone has experienced with laneige?

I've only tried two of their pretty popular products (sleeping mask and two tone lip bar) and honestly, both weren't particularly impressive. The sleeping mask was fine and did what it was supposed to do but I think the price point is a bit high for how it performs. The two tone lip bar is kinda gimmicky imo. You can create the gradient lip with any other product without the two tones that don't even blend that nicely. It's not particularly user-friendly and as low-effort as they make it to be imo.

I bought a sample pack of some of their products last year. I personally didn’t think it was worth the money. The products are nice (not spectacular or anything, but they did what they were supposed to), but considering the price, I don’t know if I would buy it again.

I would say yes, it's a bit overhyped, and that's true for a lot of high-street Korean beauty brands (I feel Laneige is kind of between high-street and department tier): they have a few star products that put them on the map, but the rest are just so-so. Don't get me wrong, Laneige products feels nice, and they do their job, but it's not as "amazing" as a lot of people would say. From personal experience, the only Korean skincare brand that has consistently put out great products is Troiareuke (but it's expensive).
