[NB] Big Hit claims "nothing has been decided" on acquiring Pledis

Odd idea considering %51 of Pledis belongs CJEM o.o

I don't think that's true. CJ E&M did attempt to buy Pledis but I think Pledis ends up rejecting them and instead CJ E&M and Han Sung-Soo work together to set up a new agency Off The Records to manage girl groups from M-Net's reality/survival programmes.

Edit: If Big Hit plans to go public within this or next year, they would need to add more groups with solid stable sales/records or with good projection of future growth under their label as soon as possible. It can be Pledis, it can be other companies. I think fans can read more on the positives and negatives of going public for the artists of the company. I think fans would understand better then why Big Hit acquiring other companies are something that can also be good for BTS, TXT, and other artists, staff, and management under Big Hit.

Its already done honestly, pledis groups releases their music on Stone now instead of 1theK (Stone belongs to CJEM)

Off the Road's CEO is also now Pledis' founder in exchange.

I couldnt see it on soompi, but i remember it as completed acquisition because there were huge concerns over whether groups would be forced to do things (they did, now they have to join year end award shows etc)

Honestly, the reason i am objecting acquisition is not because of BigHit or Pledis, or BTS like antis are keep saying. Its because i just find difference in styles huge, at least in management. At this point pledis is like that drunk father that keeps disappointing you, but you still love him, i guess i would miss old them if things were to change, even if its positively.

Otherwise i think both companies would benefit hugely. Imagine, Pledis is famous for their casting and training (industry's hardest vocal training for idols, if im not mistaken) while BigHit is quite brilliant at managing if im not mistaken again o.o if those two were to combine they would be quite awesome, im only scared if instead of joining they somehow dont listen each other and try to rule the other. But its a risk for all companies i guess.

I don't think so because Stone is a distribution company and even before there were talks of CJ E&M wanting to buy Pledis, Pledis groups have already moved to Stone from 1toK (?). After there was news that CJ E&M wants to buy Pledis, Pledis said they were talking but Pledis has only agreed on working together with CJ E&M in a foreign investment (?) and then there was no other news on whether CJ E&M has bought Pledis or not, but Off The Records is formed and registered as one of the companies under CJ E&M but Pledis is not. If Pledis has already been bought by CJ E&M, as a public/stock-registered company CJ E&M has to report it to their stockholders and to the public as well as put them under the financial reports. So I don't think Pledis is bought by CJ E&M and that is why Big Hit can then venture in buying them.

I can understand yours and other fans (Big Hit's groups or Pledis' groups) concerns about the possible acquisition. But in the end the balls is not in our hands and as fans and non-business owners of Big Hit and Pledis, the information and perspectives that we have is more limited than the actual owners and managers. We can share our perspectives so they can see potential blindspots or hurdles, but we have got to also understand that there might be a big picture that we are unable to see from our positions as fans. Personally, like when it was with the news of CJ E&M's plan, what I value most of NU'EST from Pledis is the creative freedom and direction, so as long as they let NU'EST keep their colors, the ownership matter less to me. The two companies also have their own goodness and badness, and this is still in discussion phase, so hopefully whatever the results of this discussion is going to be, it will be something that is as best as possible for all the parties.
