1. shen wei dying, the scene with shen wei and ye zun, ye zun realizing he had never been abandoned, them leaving, zhao yunlan and the lollipop wrapper - full on sobbing for like 10 minutes btw :))))

2. zhao yunlan sacrificing his soul to light the guardian lantern

3. zhao yunlan hugging his dad in the park and both of them crying

4. last scene with shen wei and zhao yunlan

anyWAYS time to read the novel because I heard that has a happy ending and I don't accept this ending :)))))

1.5 years late but thATS OK, for everyone who hasn't watched it I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, plot/continuity is questionable at times and the cgi sucks but the CHARACTERS and all the dynamics are SO GOOD it's so worth it jajsdflkgjkajklfgdf, the actors are AMAZING

and especially props to zhu yilong for acting as FOUR DIFFERENT CHARACTERS (professor shen wei, present day black cloak, black cloak from 10,000 years ago, and ye zun) and pulling off every single one of them......... watching him go from shen wei to ye zun was CHILLING I had to keep reminding myself it was the same actor because those ye zun smirks????? compared his awkward blinking as shen wei????? his entire aura is different akkdfkgkdfgk we stan talent
