Do you get upset when something you look forward every year was boring?

Winter is a big season to me, I prepare so much for it and look forward to it. Every year was so fun, but for some reason Thanksgiving and Xmas this year were freaking boring. Now I'm sitting in my room feeling upset for what just happened..... :\

this year the holidays were uneventful for me too..

i was sad at first, but i've pretty much got over it now tho.

now i'm thinking about my new year's resolutions. everything i'm going to try to achieve and do better in 2020🙏 plan ahead and be more productive. so maybe things will turn out better

Halloween pretty much every year. It's my favorite holiday but ever since high school every year is a let down. I always plan to dress up and try to find something to do but I never end up doing either. This year was the first in a while I got festive and decorated, dressed up (sort of), and went to a Halloween party, which wasn't as exciting as I hoped since there was no alcohol and the people there were from my youth group so... it didn't exactly get wild. But it was still fun. I've just accepted holidays and festivities are lost on me now as an adult.

I don't know, I've never really celebrated a lot of holidays, nor done the ones I do celebrate with much fanfare.  Also, I've had some really really bad holidays, so I consider "uneventful" to be sort of a plus.  But I'm a boring person.  I don't know if you're the one hosting, or if you go to your family's or what, but maybe next year you can take some of the holiday prep into your own hands to make it closer to how you envision it?
