How do you care about your job when you legit don't give a fuck about your job

I've said it so many times but I don not care about my job

I'm looking for a job in  my desired field rn.(just graduated) so I wont be working at the little cafe for much longer

My boss says he feels like I don't really like my job, and he is ding ding ding correct

It's because they are all super bitchy when you forget a tiny step on something or do things (out of order) meanwhile they're doing racist ass accents on the floor.

But I do need money until I get my job in my field. What's a way to fake that I care about the job and them in any way (they also complain that I don't like them).

i feel like one thing u can do is starting a conversation every now and then. it can even be simple questions like "how was your last shift?" "was it busy this morning?". i feel like when ppl see u starting conversations with them they'll assume you're being friendly.

Is there anything you can learn at your current job that can help you with your next one?

-volunteer to do some administration=learn to work with a system you can put on your cv

-talk to customers=network and improve customer service skills

-be friendly and chat to a nice colleague=learn how their sister works for a company that needs someone in your field.

-volunteer to handle their instagram=improve social media and marketing skills

Meanwhile try to find a job that might not be your end goal, but that suits your chosen field better and where you feel happier:

-work in a pet shop if you want to be a vet.

-work in a school canteen if you want to be a teacher

Even if you clean toilets in a law firm, you might still get the connections you need who give you the heads up for the job after that.

Most importantly, you do have to do your best. You might think you are meant for better things, but a boss will still expect a reasonably motivated worker if you said you would be in the interview.

I like to imagine the money I earn per hour actually being physically given to me lmao that helps. And for all else: just remember that you don't have to like your job. Almost everyone I know would give up their job if they didn't have to work anymore; you're a lucky minority if you love your job that much. Just persevere a little longer until you can move on to something that is more interesting for you.
