X1 deserved due to data but the resulting dumpster fire that would have occurred if MMA gave them the award is not something any company with a half brain celled PR department would allow. It would also drag X1 back into the public's gaze for another round of hate. I thought they did well to award it to the group with the next highest data (I presume). Because of what Mnet did, the whole Produce related scenario is like a forest fire at this point and no one wants to stand near enough in case the they catch fire as well. It's not fair and the company is horrible for ruining everything and playing with futures but to call this "rigging" I feel is less that and more "common sense" in the current media climate. It's pretty obvious they've been disqualified from every award show bc of their scandal, and we've known that for around a week already.
