Article: BTS won't be receiving military perks

1. [+656, -36] BTS never even asked for an exemption to begin with, the media has been deciding this and that on their own..

2. [+602, -38] BTS never asked for an exemption, it's been the people around them causing this mess

3. [+450, -36] I agree with the decision

4. [+34, -2] BTS has stayed quiet all this time but it was basically the politicians dragging their name into it to cause an issue

5. [+19, -0] Get rid of the celebrity unit then

6. [+15, -2] Then it's time to get rid of the clause granting exemptions to athletes who win Olympic medals. I don't personally like idols but let's be real, what BTS has done historically is a lot more than what Olympic medal if we're talking about bringing honor to our country.

7. [+13, -2] BTS has been quiet all this time, why are they dragging their name into this all the time?

8. [+10, -3] I agree with the decision. These guys are idols for their own personal gain, they're not idols for the country. I can't believe some people were even asking for them to be exempted when they're all millionaires.

9. [+9, -1] BTS has never once asked for any perks regarding their service!!!! Please stop writing articles as if they asked for these things.

10. [+8, -1] Not like they asked to be

Can you fix ARMY to Army in your title because you're confusing people

They are making it seem like BTS knelt down and begged them to give them exemption. Meanwhile Neither BTS or Bighit was involved in any of those stupid meetings.

BTS never asked... ARMY never asked either. I'm so done with this b.s. Politicians and media started this question not BTS or ARMY. FFS. When they're done dragging BTS (and ARMY) into stupid debates, perhaps they can strengthen the labour laws so TS can face justice for abusing those kids and maybe they can also get to the roots of who the real powers are behind Burning Sun instead of just jailing the creepy rags (they should increase the jail time for said creepy rags though).

Absolute bastardise for using BTS’ name for their bs political games. BTS didn’t ask for it, ARMY didn’t ducking ask for it, yet their name has been coming up with this shit  again and again. This better be the last time it comes up.

I will say though, I learned today that fucking Chess players get exemption, how the duck has no one from k-pop gotten exemption when playing bloody chess can get it for you.

Because the government and politicians themselves are not "directly" making money and benefiting from the Kpop industry...yet

The day will come though. They're already planning....

"During the press meeting in Paris, Park also said he plans to establish a government control tower in charge of harnessing hallyu, or the Korean Wave, as a growth engine in the manufacturing and service industries.

"It is critical to connect hallyu with exports, the manufacturing and service industries ... for this task, it is important to set up a cooperation system between government agencies," he said, adding that the control tower, tentatively named "hallyu promotion team," may be launched within this year under the culture ministry" https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20191120008000315

and the huge stigma against boy groups use to play a big role.

They never even asked for it, neither did BH. The ones asking for it were other companiea, including big3, who were obviously interested into getting if for their bgs. Pathetic.

Glad it didnt work out for those who actually wanted but had to hide from hate by using BTS and their real achievements as scapegoats.
