Targaryen 74
other companies have their own issues, but yg is just incredibly terrible at properly promoting their artists to the extent of wasting away years of life that could have been used for the exact purpose of why they signed with yg in the first place. Same author. Same subject. But NO BP name in it. Why does he put BP in the list now? After the People choice award happened ? Maybe because BP under UMG rigth now and they starting to pull some strings?

What does UMG has to win with this? Do we think they do more than distribution at this point. I mean if they were, they would have been in their right to sue. They signed a deal with Blackpink & YG after Kiss & Make Up, and since then Blackpink has released 0 songs in the US. They have an artist that they paid millions probably but this artist doesn't release music. Notice how any groups who signed with a US label for management actually released material for the US market.

So I think it should not be surprising that their American company has made some initiatives. Billboard, Forbes and several well known magazines began to write the same things, and in a short period of time. I don't think that's a coincidence. Certainly, even if they get a nomination this year, they won't win, but even getting a nomination can help the group get some buzz. I'm guessing they'll probably try to get their nomination again next year with their new comeback, and this time they can try to improve their chances. They have in demand in the United States, growing digitally every day, and now they have a strong American company behind them. I think they have a chance.
satoori 45,814
@Josaline @juniordud @hungerbee27 if true, getting a nomination would allow them to attend and perform. so yes even more buzz. then the "kpop moment" that's rumor to happen at the grammys this year, could very well be more then one group then....

BTS got a lot of buzz from the Grammy's last year, and ended having just a nomination for artwork. Don't expect much from the Grammy's. The panelist are old and very odd and won't nominate any Kpop group to a major award.

Yea, I also think it's a long shot. It's not easy getting such a big nomination. Especially looking at the competitors.

I read on my twitter time line that UMG submitted Black Pink for Grammy as the best New Artist. They said that Billboard confirmed this info. But I didn't check any sources for it cos I personally don't follow Black Pink, just may be some of my mutuals are Army-Blinks so it's appeared on my TL 1

Rimana 150
It's just really sad how he is wasting their potential just like that, very frustrating to witness the lost opportunities, and the immense popularity they could've had by now if properly promoted.
