It has already affected their reputation and X1 is banned from most TV channels (they only have appeared on CJ-owned ones since their debut). Contractually this doesn't need to have any direct effect, after the show the winners signed contracts with Off The Record / Swing that were completely distinct from the trainee contracts they had during the show.

Financially it's not exactly in CJ's best interest to remove anyone from the groups, X1 in particular has a really big fandom and removing 'rigged' members from the group would only diminish their revenue.

X1 apparently hasn't signed anything with CJ/Swing, so they are actually in a decent spot -- they can just walk right now, or their labels can take them back. It's IZ*ONE who really gets fucked from this since they do have a contract and will have a harder time leaving if it's decided (either by the courts, by their labels and/or by CJ) that they need to toss the group or change members.

Also X1 has appeared on more than just Mnet for shows, at the very least I can find performances from The Show and Show Champion (can't speak on the part of variety-type shows) ;-;

I'd also argue against the whole part of it not being in their best interest to remove members, especially for X1 where there is a lot more freedom to do so and the fact that there's enough people who were salty as is about the final results. The only people's best interests it's in to not remove people is the members and those who would have been cheated out of spots in the group, since at this point those of the latter group have already started doing things while kind of riding on the attention/hype they got from their relevant Produce seasons (Jinhyuk had a solo debut, Minkyu has a decent amount of CFs, and for IZ*ONE cases a few people have shifted through labels like Miyu, Juri and Kaeun, two have debuted, etc.).

I really really hope this could lead to better things for Gaeun because I think she really really deserved more success after all that she has gone through.

Nope. Her company specializes on B-grade actresses. That's where she is headed to.

B-grade is a good start. She can starts there and build her career up. The good thing of a hardworking and honest people is they will always be able to develop their skills no matter what the field is. She'll live a good life, don't worry.

On the side, she should also consult a legal team to check whether she can sue CJ/MNet for the fraud results that have affected her mentally as well as economically.

Suing CJ means she will be excluded from all tvn, Ocn and other gaggle of cable channels CJ owns, and it will also affect other actresses in her crappy agency, so it won't be encouraged.

It's not like CJ has that huge amount of power to control everything in the world. If she can sues CJ/MNet and win the suit or get huge settlement money, she can move to another country like US or Europe and starts a new career there. The good thing of being a hardworking and skillful person and having to suffer a lot of difficult things already, she can also definitely build a good life in another country, and it will be better and easier with the potentially large amount of lawsuit money she can get from CJ/MNet.

First place was rigged. It is just extremely unlikely that someone drops to 8th place 4 weeks out for several episodes, then suddenly in the last episode comes first.

Actually Sakura had an increase like that.

Sakura went 1, 5, 3, 4, 7, 2, 1

Wonyoung went 3, 4, 4, 3, 1, 8, 7

The response to episode 11 was very negative but they were prepping the show with storylines for their favorites since day one. Honestly I wonder how many episodes out the vote changing started.

All that you mentioned are Korean based, so yeah they are powerful but not that powerful to be able to control the world. Besides even Korean regular people are getting tired of billionares families in Korea playing around with the law, that's why in recent years there are more and more public backlashes, legal investigations, and legal punishments towards family members of billionaires that broke the law. For example see the nut rage incident or even the recent incident with son/heir of CJ group. Nowadays South Korean big groups try to avoid breaking the laws as much as possible especially ones that would attract public attention and they also try to distant themselves as much as possible from groups' heirs that broke the law. I don't think they would risk their whole group just to avoid paying some kind of legal responsibility of one of their companies if the court tell them so.

Not easy for an actress. The only country which might accept her is China which is now trying to not use Koreans.

Korean companies have subsidiaries in other countries, too, and they can make someone's life as hell in there as well.

Rich people follow those who offended  them to the ends of the earth, even if the cost outweighs the benefits, because they hurt the rich's ego.

You watch too much drama. These companies are serious business, not mafias. Their subsidiaries in other countries are for doing legal business in that countries, not to target someone's life. Even rich people know when the fight is not worth it. The money one of their companies have to pay IF there are lawsuit and IF the company lost the lawsuit would be pennies compared to the amount of wealth they still have. They can most likely get the money back from another show or another investment.

---

Also IF she is able to file lawsuit and IF she is able to win the lawsuit or get some settlement money, she can use the money to work abroad further than Asia because she now has enough money to learn languages in faraway countries such as the US and she does not even have to remain as an actress if she doesn't want to.

Y’all stop with the bullshit . Sakura was the most mediatized member when she suck in everything. Even got a A because of her « charisma ». Korean would have never voted for her. Wonyoung was litteraly more popular than her.

Produce has never been about talent so Sakura dominating was never about talent, or even mediatization, she just had a strong fanbase voting for her daily throughout the show.

It's probable Wonyoung surpassed her in the final thanks to the more casual fans voting.

Doubt it. Why would they vote for a 13 year old child. Remember Starship, to which Wonyoung belongs to, is one of the 3 agencies raided by the Police. The public always vote for the underdog like Chaeyeon, Hyewon or Sakura.

Wonyoung has natural stage presence and she fits the Korean beauty standard to a T. Yujin is the one from Starship whose ranking was suspicious, Wonyoung not so much.
