Lemme start with I'm HEATED.

So I'm friends with this one old coworker of mine on insta. Girl isn't fat, isn't skinny either. If I recall correctly she wore a size M (We worked clothing retail)

Anyways today she posted a pic of her at a rave in a barely there out fit that fit perfectly and her fucking caption was "I'm so fat.. oh whale"

Now, I'm not a  big girl. I'm a size xs and in number sizes 0. BUT I WAS SO HEATED. especially since my bestie likes all her pics and my friend is plus size, and when she saw it she was a little hurt saying, " smh I would kill to have a body like that"

So fucking insensitive to people that struggle with their weight. So shut your size M ass up

I'm sorry for going off like this, but it's better than me up in her comments saying this. Imma just unfriend her

she could have body dysmorphia or something. I used to be obese and I still feel huge, honestly. It sucks.

I kinda doubt it. A couple times a year she'll start showing off abs being like, "look what hard work gives you" this is the first time I've ever seen her say she's fat. usually she brags about her body so I'm assuming she's fishing for "nooo you're not fat" simply because she lost her abs

I also feel like it's body dysmorphia or being insecure with one's body. When one feels insecure they tend to lean on the other people's opinion about them to make themselves feel better. Especially since you mentioned that she has lost her abs, so maybe it does really make her feel that way.

I understand where you're coming from though. But in the end, you can't do much except feel judgemental over one's comments. I feel like the problem lies deep within her and it's something that you can't help with. Whether it's attention fishing (for real), or her insecurities.

I'm also on a plus size side and sometimes I do feel annoyed when a skinnier girl than me says "wow I'm so fat". It sort of makes me react in a way which says, "but have you seen me, what does it make me compared to you?"  But I have noticed that it is mostly insecurities and just comparing yourself to the others. You'd think that with the current "love yourself" body movement more and more girls would free themselves and be more content with themselves 😕 Like for example if you don't have thinner thighs or abs compared to the other girls - it sort of makes you downwrite yourself and make yourself feel bad like "why you can't look like that other girl? what's wrong with you?".
