Korea was part of the Japanese colonial empire. Emphasis on colonial. The country is different that Western democracies with a +70 yo industry and a long history of feminist. We just can understand them, their Grandparents were born during occupation, they were raised different, we can't even imagine what kind of live they have, what kind of society they grew up in
