Monsta X Wonho & Minhyuk accused of mocking the me too movement by an anti, and it's taking huge proportions

Someone posted several tweet (now erased & account doesn't exist anymore) a cut video of Wonho saying Me Too, and said he and Minhyuk were mocking the movement.

 

Womennews Korea has taken the story and written how Monsta X Wonho & Minhyuk (written their full name + age) saying they should apologize personally for mocking the Me Too Movement and Starship Apology was not valid.

Here is Starship Apology which said what really happened: there were action and remark that were not intended at all but has the possibility of misleading. 

 

Now what really happen

 

Now during the whole time that it happened, Monsta X but especially Wonho received, rape threats, death threats, he and the whole group were insulted of all the bad words that can exist. A calling of boycott to all Monsta X products and release and many other stuffs.

 

What's worse is that a bunch of trolls invaded Monsta X fancafé during the time Shownu was answering some fans, and posted a bunch of disgusting message. More hundreds of pictures insulting the groups and not talking about them commenting bad stuffs.

Clearly taken out of context and starship’s statement doesn’t help correct the misunderstanding at all. They should have said they will sue whoever made the false accusation.

The person who posted those accusations should be punished, they clearly had straight up malicious intentions.

I hope MX are doing okay, they haven't even done anything wrong

Someone twisted the context to fit their narrative and the damage is done. He's a 26 years old man and he should be held accountable for his doings but this isn't it.

I just read their apology letters and it seems like they knew what saying "Me Too" was referring to. The tweets in that thread that say Korean people have the habit of repeating words like "me too" and saying it means that he wants to talk is pretty deceptive, ngl. It's good that they apologized and took responsibility though. I really hope people leave them alone because the death threats are really crossing the line.

It's so hard to try understand why suddenly so many Korean fans, including moderately big fan accounts, turned something so seemingly out out of context situation into forced accusations where the members would make fun of things like goddamn sexual abuse. I did read a pretty good explanation about why the Me too campaign is more important to Korean females and why the clip could irk k-fans in a different way than others, but you've got to be somewhat blind to not even consider that maybe folks are turning the 10 second clip into something it never had anything to do with in the first place. And the extents that this thing blew up inside the fandom yesterday was just unbelievable..

I bet the members, especially Wonho who is super sensitive and harsh on himself, are going to feel super confident and great to start their promotions. They're going to have a comeback Vlive tomorrow and I'm honestly afraid to see if there's any discomfort in their eyes..

Yeah, plus the fancam isn't new so why is it only being brought up as an issue now? It's hardly a coincidence that MX are coming back soon. The person who started this mess clearly had malicious intent no matter how anyone looks at this.

I'm honestly worried about Wonho too now, he seems like a really sensitive guy so I bet it's affected him quite badly.
