Article: Sulli, was 'hate comments' really the reason?

Source: Sports World via Nate

1. [+2,903, -70] Through living life, I've learned that when you deliberate over something and finally make a decision on it, it's not usually because of one single thing. Hate comments are obviously one of the reasons, whether a big or small part or not, but I don't think it was the entire reason.

2. [+2,411, -65] I'm sure hate comments was one of the reasons but I also think the media and her agency have a responsibility in it as well

3. [+1,869, -751] I'm not trying to defend hate commenters but I have to admit that she lived her life in a psychotic manner. She should've stayed within the lines if she couldn't handle the backlash that came with acting like that. Anyone who commits suicide has a reason for it but what's it matter now debating the reason anymore? Just pray that they rest peacefully and stop bringing their name up.

4. [+294, -17] After reading that she ordered fresh groceries the day before and that her manager came to pick her up 3 hours after she was scheduled for her recording makes me feel suspicious. And in her memo, she never mentioned hate comments. I'm not sure why the media isn't focusing on these suspicions and keeps writing articles as if hate comments are the sole blame in all of this.

5. [+276, -25] Sulli did not commit suicide over hate comments at all. If she was truly scared of hate comments, she never would've been active on Instagram or even uploaded bizzare pictures. She enjoyed the hate comments. I think there was another reason behind her death.

6. [+234, -10] I'm also questioning why the media is so focused on blaming hate comments. It's not like Sulli wrote in her suicide letter specifically blaming hate comments. Who knows if she was feeling stressed over her family, a boyfriend, or friends? We have no idea what she was going through so why jump to hate comments as the blame? I'm sure hate comments had an influence over her decision but it wasn't 100% of the reason.

7. [+202, -9] I really think something happened the night before. Jonghyun had all his preparations in place before his death but Sulli even ordered groceries for herself and was playing around on SNS, making fun of her hate comments. She was working up till the night before. It's just so weird. Her recording was set for noon but her manager only went to get her at 3? I think her cellphone records and her manager should both be investigated. Something had to have happened the night before, and it probably involved another celebrity that SM is trying to hide. That's why the media keeps trying to blame it on hate comments and move on.

8. [+201, -14] I don't get why everyone keeps blaming hate comments. Sulli herself said that she doesn't read hate comments on 'Night of Hate Comments' and that she was more hurt over the blind item rumors of her going around. It was the media that started publicizing those rumors, leading those close to her to desert her. Imagine living your entire life under the adoration of others and suddenly having no one left. Imagine how lonely that must've felt? No wonder she was making friends with random strangers who DM'd her.

9. [+197, -5] The dead cannot speak for themselves but judging by the fact that there was no suicide letter and that she was always standing up for herself against hate comments on 'Night of Hate Comments' makes me question why the media is so intent on chalking her death up to hate comments.

10. [+163, -9] If her death was truly caused by depression from hate comments, then the police could just announce that. But they're not announcing anything. That's why I don't think it was just the hate comments.

11. [+154, -4] This is my question as well... People have been blaming hate comments since the moment of her death but I think it was a personal issue instead...

12. [+144, -3] I just want to know why her manager was so late in going to pick her up. It was a noon recording so the manager should've been there by 10 am... what were they doing until 3:30?

13. [+127, -4] I never thought there was anyone good by Sulli's side. Just a bunch of people trying to use her. Sulli was never evil or malicious... just an easy target for people to use her.

14. [+111, -6] I also read somewhere else that the reason the media keeps trying to focus on blaming hate comments is because the government is trying to force real names to be used on the internet to shut everyone up. Never in Sulli's memo did she say that she was suffering from hate comments.

15. [+90, -2] Hate comments could've been part of the reason... but I think the bigger issue is that her agency and the media keeps trying to hide the true reason and is blaming solely hate comments for her death.

I am so fucking tired of logging on to this site and seeing NB milking her death. The least you could do is post articles celebrating her life but she instead wants to post shit where people still have the audacity to criticise her life and how she lived it, and try to find a way to blame her for wanting to end her life instead of blaming the people who are so filled with hatred to anyone different. People will never change

Monsters literally monsters, can't even let her go in peace

she clearly suffered through those comments: I am not a bad person. I’m sorry. Why are you saying bad things about me? What did I do to deserve this?”

Just leave her alone.

Shame on you op for making this thread, shame on nb for milking her death after she took a huge part on this hate train on the international side, shame on the individuals who are going after her even after such a tragedy. Please let her rest in peace.

Netizen Butt couldn't even wait a week. I am very sure they are articles that have wholesome, positive and mature comments. However to please whatever bites her body when she translates anything that makes sense, she went to the depths of hell to translate the most disgusting comments.

I hope karma comes for her and the commenters in this article.
