Hello moonROK Readers,

First of all, thank you so much for your support in our first few days of launch. I cannot believe how many people are visiting the site, and it is such a gratifying feeling to see that you are all loving it as much as the moonROK team hoped that you would.

I am writing you today to remind you of our mission and of our goals as a company. Our mission is to bring you closer to the music, the artists, and the culture that you love. Our goal is to be the world's premier source of K-pop news and entertainment.

I refuse to accomplish either our mission or our goal by attempting to boost traffic with gossip. I have personally deleted the article detailing the rumors and gossip surrounding Choiza's wallet allegedly being found by a netizen. I refuse to reinforce or encourage the behavior of the netizen who thoughtlessly and cruelly uploaded the picture of the wallet.

If SM Entertainment or Amoeba Culture confirm any facts on the matter, I assure you that we will publish an article detailing news and only the news - not rumors.

I hope that you, our readers, understand and respect moonROK's decision to not participate in gossip. At the end of the day we aim to be a news site with integrity, and we refuse to sacrifice that integrity for the sake of traffic numbers.

Thank you for your time and for your support.

Sincerely,

Hannah Waitt
moonROK Founder & Editor-in-chief

90% of the kpop news is gossip. Companies never confirm anythig until days afterward when the dust has already settled.

Scandals are part of the news, part of the realitty of kpop and a huge part of idol lifestyle. Not discussing it just means people are going to look for it somewhere else.

If something has a Korean news source I think it's the duty of any k-pop english site to translate it and spread it along to be honest. You're supposed to be informing English-speaking fans of what's going on in the Korean entertainment world, not censoring stuff from them IMO.

Isn't that what the founder is saying? That unless an official News site reports on it they won't.
