Are you scared of public speaking?

I have anxiety and public speaking is the nightmare that never ends for me. There were times I had to do 10 presentations a month but it still didn't make me less scared. Til this day I'm still afraid of it. 😞

I'm quite scared yeah, always stressed and feeling sick whenever I have to give a presentation (I often start to feel sick the day before and it last till a few hours after the presentation). But for my studies I had to give many, manyyyyy presentations. Even had one in front of hundreds of people, including professionals. Was really scary but went through it anyway.

I also started giving classes to college students (classes of ~40 students) last month... the first classes were a nightmare, but as time went by, it became easier and even and I started enjoying it.

There was a time during my High School life when I was scared of public speaking, anxious of making mistakes and soo on.... my eng teacher wasn’t helping tbh she was one of the reasons I hated it ...

but now I am a public speaker, Lol. I got inspired by people online & decided to improve my stage skills,

i first worked on flow, I would speak random stuff in English before my webcam & watch recordings to rectify myself,

then I worked on gestures, I played games which could improve body language & gestures

then I started to take initiative & try out every opportunity to speak in public, be it class/gathering/or even during team talks. It got rid of my stage fear, as I learned to interact with audience & learned how to feed on audience reactions & to ignore them when needed

lastly, I worked on stage movement, speech structure, impromptu skills, vocal variety etc. & NOW I am public speaker...

i joined Toastmasters club later in my area, and I have participated & won several awards as well

public speaking can indeed be a nightmare but taking small but smart steps towards it can easily transform u

I used to alot when I was younger but we always do presentations and I took speech class. The speech class helped alot, and I'm used to public speaking now. I mean, I still get nervous but not as much anymore.
