It's inevitable. 

All of those economic facts notwithstanding, and all of which are true, Japan isn't the goldmine it once was, China is trying to secure it's own insular culture, the Americas and Europe are the only markets left. Even without that wall going around China, the fact that BTS just got shit ton of gold and platinum certifications handed to it by the RIAA and Billboard will fuel it. I'm not saying that K-pop is about to dominate the western markets, but it's only going to get further into the mainstream from here.
