To me kpop groups promoting in USA will keep happening for a while, but because since a group made it there the opportunities there increased a lot. I think SM attempt have more to do with a possible change for idols enlistment, since one of the biggest reasons to be given about BTS possible exception is related to BB charts (thought im fact we know it's because of economy). If SM wanted to actually test waters I believe they would try a very different and more organic approach, like basically every group going to Usa is doing. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But when they have to let their most popular male idols enlist it's always a loss money wise, so gathering them in one group to get an excemption to them all so they can keep promoting in Korea seems plausible to me. Also Korean public seems to have become less and less welcoming towards foreign idols, sadly. But idk, i guess we have to wait and see.
