[KPKF] NCT Taeyong insulted a gay student in graduation album?

uh, are we sure that's really him? I mean his name is spelled 이태, not 이태as it shows in that image. Like it can't be a "typo" because it's handwritten, and at that age I'm pretty sure Taeyong would know how his name is supposed to be spelled.

on second thought..... the name on the note was 이태욛 meanwhile taeyong's name is 이태용

did he typoing his name?

it's handwritten so it's impossible to be a "typo". And at that age I'm pretty sure he would know how his own name is supposed to be spelled, he's not a kindergartener learning how to spell his name for the first time.

I honestly thought netizen wouldn't went that hard at the post, whoever made it. What with SK being homophobic in general. I guess it's good they don't condone homophobia in general, not bc it's come from the people they dislike.

I don't understand hangul so if anyone would like to know the details etc of this post, do translate the contents in this link

It either would further confirm whether it was written by/for this taeyong guy (what with typo/badly written? name) and he is "scumbag" or.... it's just another false rumours. It's not the first nor the last time we would fall into them.

I hope Pann Choa or Knetizen translate the whole post, bc I'm not an expert. But from what I can read, the post includes texts between the victim student who was insulted and the author who posted the content. Seems like the victim didn't want to come forward at first, but the author convinced them. The victim apparently made an inquiry to SM about it back in 2017, hoping to get a private and quiet apology from Taeyong, but they just kept him on hold and never got back to him. A ss of the email is included.

Oh I thought the chat was between taeyong and victim. Did it explain how the author found the post (assuming the photo wasn't posted originally by victim) and the victim? Any explanation about the typo/badly written name some users mentioned here?

What I dislike about translation sites besides spreading false, unconfirmed informations, is the vagueness of their posts smh. It's like their goal to make ifans more stoopid.

I think the author is also from the same school, and he found out about the comment bc it's in the year book, but I'm not entirely sure. That's one of the things I hope Pann Choa could help clarify.

And no one is questioning that the signature name says 태용 (Taeyong) on the K-netz side, bc 태욘 (Taeyon) simply isn't a name. A name would never end on 'yon' like that. For that to be a Korean name, it would end on 'yeon' and therefore be spelled 태연 (Taeyeon) instead. Given how the start of the syllable is written as ㅛ and not ㅕ, it's more believable that it's simply a stylistic choice or just bad handwriting. As the translation site pointed out in their tweet, when you look closely it actually does look like he wrote a scribblyㅇ, like this:

VTWEIk5.png

And yeah, I agree that translation sites should really start to translate the entire post and not just knetz comments, bc it causes so much confusion 😓

How do we know this is him though? I'm all for cancelling someone who is hateful and discriminatory towards minorities but being homophobic is a pretty serious accusation and I'd like to see more than just a photo that anyone can just produce? If anyone has seen or found more info regarding this, please share it. SM should address this honestly.

This. I'm a member of the LGBT community so this really hurt when I first saw it, but it's wrong to vilify someone when the only evidence is a photo of a handwritten note.

Has anyone actually translated the whole post yet? Because the translations I’ve seen have been so vague. I now think it was him who wrote it, but since some people said the name is not his, most just run with that and deny it ever happened. From what I’ve seen it’s just messy handwriting but it is his name...

I didn’t want to believe he would say that but... Can SM drop a statement already?

wait isn't the name misspelled? i'm having a hard time believing Taeyong would misspell his own name 🤔 I don't speak the slightest bit of Korean but the last letter on the note seems to be completely different from the correct spelling of Taeyong's name in Korean.

I'm sorry, but listen. The name is mispelled on it, it's not TAEYONG why would he mispell his name in it? And a person can't change their handwriting, if people would have some sense they would search his handwrite and compare it. Because trust me, I tried with report cards and failed. So it's not him. So please stop believing everything that comes to surface when he's in the limelight. Because that's only when things happen. And the original article is from PANN ANYBODY can write an article on that site, so stop believing peoples petty shit.
