You know what part of Kpop I HATE?

The idol tracks that are "Americanized" You know the ones. Generally some sort of hiphop influence to them.

It's like, that's not what I got into Kpop for. Don't get me wrong I'm hella passionate about rap and I'm not opposed to Koreans doing it (Dynamic Duo is my favorite Asian act), but the thing is is I feel when idols attempt the style the magic of kpop is gone.

Also the attempt to seem more "Americanized" to get into a western market (not pointing out one group because I can think of several), kinda seems... wrong. I can't place my finger on why. Also I'm not articulate enough to express it. But something about it seems lowkey self hating I do recognize it is about profits though.

I got into kpop for the glossy pop perfection with catchy choruses and cute fashion. Not a weird attempt at hip hop ( NOTE: I'M NOT SAYING THIS ABOUT ALL KOREAN HIPHOP. JUST IDOLS)

Just now, Seunghee's eyebrows said:

I agree. Almost as if K-POP lost it's identity. I missed the weird/wacko concepts

EXACTLY! Stuff like Candy by H.O.T, Balloons by TVXQ, Cooking Cooking by Super Junior H wouldn't happen now. And it's all because companies are trying to fit into the west ugh

Yep. The urge to have that western validation irks me. I definitely miss the days when K-POP was a thing that you and I knew. It's gotten too popular and I hate it lol
