I don't have high hopes for all these Vietnamese and Korean collaborations. We've been reading about all these different collabs for the last year and nothing major has happened. Until I see a successful group, then I'm keeping my optimism low.

The only one that I'm anticipating is that company that Big Hit signed up with to make an international group. I forgot the name, but they are supposed to debut this year.

They are definitely being more active on social media, but when are they going to have a proper comeback?

I almost forgot about the Bighit x Mnet group. But maybe it's delayed because of the Mnet Produce scandal?

If the Dreams Come True show had a clear path and planning what the winners will do, I might be more intrigued. But it seems there is no concrete plans like all other flop survival shows in recent years. Should have just been a girl season instead of co-ed, 8 girl winners will be forming a ''LIME'' group after training in Korea. I think it would peak people's interest more.

Don't like how 6thS is promoting UNI5 or whatever you wanna call it, but at least they are giving the boys something to do. Unlike Monstar, that are doing basicially nothing....

What's going on with Monstar? They had a year of comebacks and then stopped. I know Grey D stepped away for a bit but has there been other news?

Rumors are saying they will have their official debut in the end of February. Hope the song and MV are of high quality, so they can gain positive buzz both from vietnamese and international Kpop fans. But I have low expectations to be honest.

I wish D1verse could be as big as SB19, the filippino group that also is managed by a korean company. They have the backings of the majority of filippino Kpop fans and non-fans as well. Even entered the Billboard social chart 200 and will hold stadium concert! That's incredible!

Maybe D1verse will just be slightly better than local groups and we just have to wait for the maybe upcoming NCT-V that could be in the same league as SB19?

A little more info about the upcoming Dreams Come True show. Google translation:

Vietnam will have a talent selection program like Produce 101

After The Voice Kids, Pham Quynh Anh - Duong Khac Linh continued to accompany the new selection show, Dreams Come True. The program has a similar format to Mnet's Produce 101.

After The Voice Kids 2019, Pham Quynh Anh and Duong Khac Linh continued to accompany in the talent selection show Dreams Come True. The two will undertake the role of judging, evaluating and eliminating Vietnamese candidates.

The Dreams Come True contest is scheduled to take place within 2 months and will find the winners in February 2020. In the preliminary round, the contestants will register by sending talent demonstration videos to the organizers. After that, the jury will select 40 best candidates to enter the knockout round each week.

produce-101-1.jpg

From the top 40, each week, contestants will have to go through a special challenge to win the right to "survive" in the next round. Contestants will be eliminated continuously after each challenge failure until finding 8 winners.

The 8 winners of Dreams Come True show will be taken to Korea for training. The group will also have a debut on showbiz in Korea before coming back to Vietnam.

The format of voting is the same as Korea's Produce 101

The 8 winners will be able to go to Korea and undergo rigorous training according to Kpop standards. In addition, the organizers promise the winner group will be supported to "pitch" on the music scene in Korea before returning to Vietnam to operate.

The choice of online broadcasting form, choosing the winner based on the votes of the audience also hits the current habits of using mobile phones and social networks of young people.

This is also a familiar way in the past few years of the talent selection show in Korea. Mnet's famous show - Produce 101 - was one of the first shows to apply this method.

produce-101-2.jpg

However, Produce 101 as well as Idol School - the show that determines the winner based on the voting method - are caught in the scandal of vote manipulation. At the press conference for Dreams Come True, the organizers also received questions about ensuring the transparency of the program.

Producer Kim Boo Hyun - the head of the production team of Dreams Come True - said he had planned from the beginning and prepared all the ways to ensure fairness and transparency to find talented people. Mr. Kim said it is currently not possible to disclose specific ways of ensuring fairness because of fear that candidates may bypass the law.

The difference between Vietnam talent show and Produce 101 is the right to "save people" of the judges.

Producer Kim Boo Hyun and musician Yang Joon Young said the judges will have the privilege of adding points to potential contestants to avoid them being excluded due to not having a large fan base.
Pham Quynh Anh and Duong Khac Linh refused to talk about the possibility of success of the winning team

In addition to the Korean jury, Dreams Come True also has the appearance of Pham Quynh Anh and Duong Khac Linh. The Vietnamese judging duo will guide the skills and challenge the contestants.

Duong Khac Linh said he has prepared difficult challenges for the contestants. "These challenges will help you cultivate a lot of skills and become more mature to become a standard idol in Vietnam," the 39-year-old musician said.

Zing.vn asked questions about the training environment and the person in charge of professionalism for the winning team of the program.

In response to the question, the organizers said they contacted many entertainment companies in Korea, looking for partners to facilitate the 8 contestants to win training in the most professional environment. According to producer Kim Boo Hyun, there was an entertainment company that accepted the training of the contestants, but he could not disclose the exact name.

Regarding the success and failure of this group of contestants, two Vietnamese judges Duong Khac Linh and Pham Quynh Anh on behalf of the team responded to Zing.vn. Accordingly, the two take on the training role in the competition in Vietnam.

Musician Duong Khac Linh said: "It is important that the Korean side trains how the musicians will compose for the group who wins the song. Because a famous artist or not is due to the song only. Singing and dancing skills everywhere, too, are not the deciding factor for success. "

"It's really hard for the team to say how many percent of the group's success is coming from the show. It depends on a lot of factors and no one can tell the future," she said. Singer Pham Quynh Anh said

Will be interesting if the producers can follow up with these quotes: '

'In addition, the organizers promise the winner group will be supported to "pitch" on the music scene in Korea before returning to Vietnam to operate.''  In response to the question, the organizers said they contacted many entertainment companies in Korea, looking for partners to facilitate the 8 contestants to win training in the most professional environment. Whoa this came out of nowhere. How did this collab happen

I think Ivone got connections through the web-drame she was in. The song wasn't my cup of tea and the MV production was pretty bad. But hope she gets a better song and video in the future.

Big Hit Entertainment has revealed future plans for several new groups!

On February 4, Big Hit Entertainment held a corporate briefing to discuss the company’s future plans.

During the briefing, vice president Shin Young Jae announced that Big Hit Entertainment plans to debut a new boy group in 2022.

In addition, Source Music CEO So Sung Jin shared that the girl group resulting from the Plus Global Audition, a collaboration project with Big Hit’s CBO (Chief Brand Officer) Min Hee Jin, has been formed and will debut in 2021.

So Sung Jin also mentioned GFRIEND, who recently made their comeback, and the agency growing towards becoming the “No. 1 label for girl groups” through the synergy with Big Hit Entertainment after being acquired last year.

Vice president Choi Yoon Hyuk of BELIFT, a joint venture between Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM, revealed the company’s goal of making K-pop mainstream and their vision to transplant the K-pop training system to the global market. He also announced the company’s plan to debut a multinational boy group within 2020 as BELIFT’s first project towards their goals.

Stay tuned for updates on the three new groups!

Another collaboration? 🤨 There's been several collab yet no proper debut nor success. I'm iffy about this one.

I'm with you on that. However, I always welcome new GG because Vpop seems to be lacking a stable group since LIME.

If they are going to debut in Korea, and from the looks of amount members on the poster they will be five, at least one or two must be korean.
