Why Yuehua can't give UNIQ a proper group comeback?

I mean, even before Seungyeon, Yixuan & Wenhan joined these idol contests, they are still doing random things as a group, they have released a single last year but no proper video and promotions. Not that UNIQ can't sell, they can and has fans waiting for them. 

And now that Wang Yibo technically can be considered a rising superstar, Seungyeon is now becoming a globally popular idol thanks to X1 (I can predict that his popularity will even soar higher each comeback), and with the constant appearances of Wenhan & Yixuan in tv's and dramas which is helping them be more recognized, do you think Yuehua will capitalize with all these popularity and opportunities and have a proper group comeback for UNIQ after 2.5 yrs? (since Seungyeon is still tied in X1 until 2021)

UNIQ is done for. From the time Yibo became popular and tried to break contract, the group was done for. Seungyoun will promote in SK even after X1, as he did as Luizy and Woodz.

Sungjoo is in China doing online broadcasts and stuff. He might release a new song soon acc to what I read on twitter. Yixuan also just released his new song today in time for his 5th anniversary. Also, they had just performed as a trio (Yibo, Yixuan, Sungjong) during the Yuehua family concert last June. Wenhan couldnt joined because he is currently promoting in Unine and Seungyeon because of Produce. 

Such a shame, Yuehua couldn't give them a proper group comeback when it doesn't have any issues monetarily unlike other Kpop companies wherein they couldnt give group comebacks because of lack of funding. 

Anyways I think they're still close and communicating. Everyone atm is in China except Seungyeon.

I remember reading among fan speculations that the above manager was specifically Yibo's, and tried to take him with him when he was applying to leave the company - it was in 2017, right after Yibo got popular for his acting.

Okay, I've read that rumor too. From my understanding, it was a staff who tried to persuade/scam Yibo but I think Yibo talked it out with the company and that staff was penalized pr imprisoned I think. Wang Yibo was still so young at that time 19 I think so many people wants to take advantage of him. 

And for Sungjong, I dont know where, just search on twitter maybe you will find clues. I just saw clips on it there.

Anyways, its really clear that each of them still loves to perform on stage. Even if Yibo achieves sky high popularity, he wont easily abandon dancing nad singing since its his passion. They may do ala TFBoys thing if they want to, doing solo stuffs but reunite from time to time. Anyways, only time can tell. At that time, there were quite a few tumblr and twitter Uniq fan-accounts who agreed on the manager and Yibo trying to move. They also said that after that, Yibo was given a separate and better contract from the group. I don't know how much to believe though.

Yes, in EOEO days you could see how good they were!

Since the other guys are now kind-of-settled, I'm worried about Sungjoo most (he's also my bias).

We can't really fault YueHua too much for not promoting uniq when it was during the height of anti Korean sentiment from Chinese citizens.

Even to this day, people still try to hate on Meiqi, Xuanyi, and Chengxiao for performing in front of South Korean military. 

At this point, I'm happy enough that the 5 members are still active doing things/making money. 

In 2 years, after UNINE and X1 contracts are over, I'm almost 100% sure that YueHua will go hard on promoting uniq.

God, you don't know how much I needed those words. Even though I am quite hesitant to believe and is preparing my heart for worst but with many people believing they'll be promoting active again made me hope also. There's almost a slim chance since Seungyoun cannot promote until 2.5 years, that's basically contract over for the 5 of them. If Yuehua want to, they must offer better contract and move fast since Sungjong by then must go to military. To be honest, I pity Sungjong more than anyone else in the group. He has the most positive outlook and mindset, he never fails to include Uniq in his endeavors, he's always been there, but he's the one with less projects. I really hope he can hit daebak too for him not to feel too inferior towards his group mates.

Yes they are still close. Yuehua held a family concert last June and 3 of them performed their songs. To be honest, everyone still friends and in contact. The only one I'm worried is Seungyoun though. There's a different vibe with him during their last years gathering and group activities.

I feel yuehua sending him to produce was their last hurrah. 

He can start promoting with yuehua in like two years, which gives UNIQ only a few months before their original contracts end. 

They might be able to fit in a tiny concert of some sort at that time as a goodbye. That's just my guess. 

 

 

I'm more concerned about jobless Sungjoo RN.

Its all about driving the storyline.

 

They have already accumulated a lot of individual fans and once united those fans will crossover and there goes the popularity off the roof, that's what CFs are looking for.

 

Its just a smart thing to stay together for all parties involved.

Can I ask, even if they are keen for an OT5 comeback, can it be done? How's the political situation between China and S.Korea now? Can the artistes perform freely in both countries? Now that the Chinese members are gaining so much popularity, will performing in Korea jeopardise their solo career? As for Sungjoo, sigh... I'm also dying for news about him. He has one of my favorite voice in the whole Kpop. He must sing. I think he suits doing musicals as his solo work. Btw, how come he can work in China all these years?
