mamamoo's new song is what spica's you don't love me should have sounded like with more focus on fitting their vocals with the instruments and less ion adlibs

history's psycho is one of the most original songs i've heard from a boy group in a while which is not something new for history who have already shown their unique colours with what am i to you and dreamers.

so do you agree with the title??

LOL Somewhat disagree with your comment about SPICA. You Don't Love Me was what You Don't Love Me was supposed to sound like. SPICA's sound is more powerful and soulful whereas Mamamoo is more slinky and sultry. Ain't nothin wrong with tossin in soulful ad libs if you can do it (once it's appropriate and well done....which in YDLM, they were). But I  do agree that Mr. Ambiguous is really neat and as celeb loaded and amped up as this debut was...it still is slept on >.<

History now. LOVE.

Since debut (save for Tell Me Love) History has carved out a sound for themselves, which I don't think any other boy group has. A very classy, dream like sound; even if the genre changes...the SOUND remains very dreamy, smooth and it has a groove. This comeback further solidifies their sound. Psycho is a bit detached...yet it flows lol. People have been saying it's missing something or it never climaxes but I just think (in addition to differing tastes) it's  just them not quite grasping what History has going on. With this song, I don't think there's any intent to slam you with high notes or prove their vocal power. Instead it's supposed to almost mystify you; when you listen to how smooooothly they sing the song you understand.

Someone I know mentioned the fact that VIXX would have done this better...but I don't think so. VIXX's sound is too jarring and cutting (which is AWESOME for the stuff they do) to pull off something so dreamy and smooth. The progression used in the song is very SHINee/VIXX like (because those two groups have a lot of songs with that style of progression so it has become associated with them) but the 80s new wave arrangement of it combined with the smooth vocals still make this an entirely HISTORY song, and done well too.

lol end.

Yes to MAMAMOO, but Psycho's lyrics  :wth:

IKR!!!!

I finally understand the struggle VIXX's fans had with Hyde. All of these songs romaticizing an otherwise terrifying and undesirable situation. lol

But the entertainment industry in general has had a long infatuation with the sociopath/psychopath style of possession and obsession.

This.

I like the song by Mamamoo but why is it when people want to talk about them they always have to do it by slamming SPICA?  People keep saying SPICA is irrelevant yet just about everyone uses them as the standard by which good girl group vocals are judged.

because SPICA can sang. they can harmonize. No matter how ppl diss them because they haven't quite blown up yet...fact remains they are one of the best group of female singers in kpop.

and I feel like they'll blow up soon. SPICA's climb has been slow...but there is progress.
