How the Death of Muhlaysia Booker Is Changing Dallas’ Black LGBT Community

Recommended Posts

This is issues like these in which you realizing that intersectionality is absolutely vital. And not just with race, gender or sexuality, but with CLASS. People often gladly overlook how society is stratified in classes of people, from wealthy to poor, and how that has a major effect on how they're treated by their peers and by society as a whole. Race and class issues interesect because black people are more likely to be poorer than white people, even if they're LGBT. White people can be poor as fuck though, but the system doesn't discriminate them based on skin color, so they have more chances and opportunities to rise from it. It's tricky but... yeah, this is why I'm extremely socialist, borderline communist, because class system is also an oppression that feeds on racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism and fatphobia. Every oppression intersects and feed one another.
