I don’t know if the new site is coming, sadly. I just tried finding the announcement for it, and it seems to have been deleted (or something, i can’t find it). I hope OH a can become more stable soon, I really enjoy the site, and I don’t like to see it crashing all the time like its doing now.

Just make a new forum on a good and reliable server and stop this madness, There are a lot of people that are attached to this forum and will certainly move to a new one if you keep it with a similar design. All this time being down, i hope this is at least an alternative mods/the owner are thinking. There are users even ready to spend some money to keep the forum alive. Just make a decision

Database aside, the issues could also be server related. So even if a new forum is made (but the server or server configurations are unchanged), the site could potentially still go down.

it is a server issue, but iirc, they wanted to sort of archive this site so anyone can still find old stuff , but wouldnt be able to post, or change at all. i think ppl also just wanted to be able to keep their posts/rep/won/etc. as well.

and if thats too much of a hassle, they should honestly just start from scratch because the server for this site just seems fked in any case anw.

Archiving (without the ability to post) is easy as adjusting the post settings.

Starting from scratch is the cleanest option but may not be the most desired option.

Data such as the posts and reps are part of the forum core and in normal cases are imported during the upgrade process. Usually straight forward, but in cases when database corruption is present manual intervention may be necessary. In extreme cases the forum developers can take a look through their support system. Or for a fee, they can take care of the upgrade. This also goes for the other core apps like blog data.

The won (WonHallyu) may get tricky. The (third-party) app that OH uses for points (won) and shop items no longer exists...Hasn't existed in years. The closest app(s) that exist today are a combination of "Members Shop" + "iAwards" and/or "Trophies and Medals". "Members Shop" has built-in shop items as well as custom shop items (that staff can create). "iAwards" is a standalone while the "Trophies and Medals" can be integrated with "Members Shop". With customization these apps can look and feel almost the same as what OH has now. I'd ask the developer of "Members Shop" to see if the points can be imported into its system. If not then the points can be manually entered (although tedious and time consuming). The awards may need to be recreated, which may not be a bad thing.

Personally I think upgrading to a new forum has benefits but it will take work and money. If the server needs an upgrade then that too will cost money. I understand that the current server costs in the triple digits but is funded solely by the owner. The maintenance and monthly fees can get expensive.
