Article: SM Entertainment charged an additional 10.2 billion won in corporate taxes

Source: TV Report via Nate

1. [+294, -21] Am I the only one thinking 10.2 billion won isn't that much considering it's SM

2. [+225, -8] So it wasn't tax evasion but a miscalculation? That's the result?

3. [+225, -24] So it's over with them paying their additional fees?? Thought there'd be more

4. [+23, -6] So they weren't evading taxes

5. [+23, -5] Well, I hope that teaches everyone who blamed SM for tax evasion~!

Article: SM "The results in our tax investigation showed that there wasn't a tax evasion with foreign businesses" official statement

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+2,239, -196] So was the fee charge domestic tax evasion then?

2. [+1,931, -175] Puts SM in a different light ã…Žã…Žã…Ž Stop media playing to improve your company image

3. [+1,695, -146] Something smells fishy....

4. [+1,196, -105] oh yeah?

5. [+441, -33] So they had to pay an additional 10.2 billion won but there wasn't any tax evasion, gotcha

6. [+441, -42] They got hit with a 10.2 billion won fee and they're saying there was no tax evasion ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

7. [+419, -45] I guess they made an agreement with the IRS to settle on 10.2 billion won. SM once again shows they're different. Could've ended up like CJ or Kang Ho Dong if they screwed up...

8. [+381, -23] Then why were they hit with the 10.2 billion won fee if there wasn't tax evasion???

9. [+343, -32] Just how petty of a crime do they think tax evasion is that they're hit straight to the face with a 10.2 billion won fee and they're media playing about how it wasn't tax evasion?

10. [+285, -20] Look at them trying to glamor up the 10.2 billion won charge ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

11. [+261, -21] It doesn't matter because SM doesn't have a good image with the public anyway. Their entire company relies on fans. Once a generation of fans have grown up and gotten over them, they've already cultivated another generation of fans to fund them.

12. [+239, -25] SM's lobbying was a success!

13. [+218, -30] Either way, their image is already in the dumpster

14. [+175, -18] Yeah, keep lying...

15. [+169, -13] So why is the article about their 10.2 billion won fee not featured on the main page like this one? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

people are sooo beyond desperate to pin something, anything on SM, it's getting tedious now... paying more tax isn't a big surprise for any company operating overseas

You don't say.

Normally, fans would care about what their bias is doing.

But a whole lot pressed JYJ/YG/JYP stans are so riled up about hoping SM is gonna do bad.

Them having to pay doesn't have to mean much. It's not that unusual for companies to have to pay more tax as there might be different views/interpretations on how certain things should be taxed. Yet, this doesn't mean that it's the end of it either, depending on what the investigation finds out, they might charge them or demand further payments.

indeed, some of them are wishing so hard for SM's downfall that they'll latch onto anything that they can spin into sounding bad without even checking the actual details

getting negged for stating a fact smh...

LOL at people being butthurt over getting negged. Y'all been on OH for years and yall still pressed over that? And lol at y'all being so proud at SM not having evaded taxes like y'all on their payroll and were afraid of getting laid off.

Lmao

And lets not act like SM stans arent ready to throw shade at YG/JYP/ANY COMPANY whenever the chance arises.
