The latest record to beat was from an EXO member whose Chinese fanclub purchased 110K copies

original post: here

1. Freaking amazing, if they promoted in China, they'd make so much money

2. Wow V's popularity in China is freaking amazingã…‹ã…‹ã…‹  They don't even promote in China but he's such a buzz over thereã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹  Congrats congrats

3. Bangtan don't even promote in China, yet they're so popularã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

4. Fans often release receipts in case they're accused of something, but this time, they just released like thatã…‹ã…‹ã…‹  Refreshin

5. ã„·ã„·ã„· V's Chinese popularity is amazing

6. His individual fandom bought all this?

7. I usually hate those popularity competition where they purchase albums to fight, but this is quite refreshing

8. I think it's because people accused V fans of faking the number of albums purchased, so they gathered all their receipts

9. People were bullsh*tting them because there were no receipts, congrats on finding them

10. They were getting f*cking sworn at for not showing their receipts so they showed them in the end

For this comeback, C-ARMY bought ~500K physical copies. Imagine if BTS actually promoted in China? 0u0plz.png My Chinese friend said that although she doesn't know a lot about K-pop, she knows about BTS because the members Jungkook and Taehyung are very popular with C-teenagers due to their physical appearance. She said that V got more popular after the Grammys becuse his video went viral and gathered 10M+ views on Tic-Toc in about 12 hours. Sadly, the person who uploaded it deleted the video soon after for some unknown reason.

China: 500K physical copies + ~430K digital copies from ONLY 1 music platform.

Japan: 300K+ on Oricon

USA: 300K+ pure copies

I find it amazing how many K-pop fans underestimate (or don't know) about BTS's popularity in Japan. For example, BTS had the THIRD best-selling single for a male act (groups + soloists) in Japan last year and were the ONLY foreign act + non-Johnny boy group to be in the Top 10. They were ranked SECOND as the most loved male act by female students in high school with 9.8% of the total votes (only after ARASHI themselves with 10.2%) and they were ranked third by male students. Their popularity in Japan is really impressive considering the fact that they barely promote there. Imagine if they did heavy Japanese promotions similar to TWICE? 0u0plz.png

Same...Changmin and Yunho are so handsome rlytearpls.png

And I thought kookie’s Chinese fanbase would be the one to break the record as his fanbase is bigger than tae’s but wow...and also bts have stopped promoting in China...it’s cool to know their fanbase is growing slowly but surely

BTS are the biggest 3rd gen Korean boy group in Japan and second biggest 3rd gen Korean group after Twice. They’re killing it in every major music market in the world. Just because kpop fans don’t know or refuse to acknowledge it, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. When we call BTS a global act, we actually mean “globalâ€, not just one or two markets.

C-ARMYs are on a whole other level and they only ever get to see BTS in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
