After few weeks, she sometimes would text me anyways. but I would end convos. I was not initiating contact. If you had special bond with someone, ghosting them makes sense no? you are defending yourself from getting hurt. I am talking about the case where there is serious attraction (not fling type, but serious attraction, which is going for long time) , and suddenly ghosting happens.
