Of all the people I’ve read or heard about auditioning for the part, Hoult might be the best fit, apart from Kit Harington, of course. Hoult laid out the story to Page Six, blaming his hair on losing him the part. At the time, he was filming Clash of the Titans, which accounted for the unexpected styling. “They gave me a ponytail and also a very patchy fake tan. So I remember being like, ‘This is probably not what they’re hoping for’, and it obviously wasn’t.†It’s all good, Hoult. You went on to do some pretty badass things, like playing the role of Lord of the Rings’ author J.R.R Tolkien in the biopic Tolkien, out in theaters now. And he played Beast in the X-Men movies and Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road…It’s safe to say he did alright, but what a different series it might have been if he had landed that Thrones gig. ___________________________________ Do you think he would've acted better for the role had he won the audition?
