what's the deal with BTS's US performances being taken down or not even uploaded on YT?

first DNA at James Cordon's show disappeared. then SNL. nobody even tried with BBMAs' BWL. does BTS have problems with whoever they are signed with in US?

Cordon's and SNL's performances were at shows' channels. US artists uploaded their official BBMAs performances at their respective channels within a day, BTS uploaded only a fancam and even that was a week after. i'm confused. who copyrights whom?

it's annoying and frankly hurts BTS.

Someone mentioned BTS not having an official Vevo once(?)..idk.It's interesting seeing some Armys tweet about this issue telling Bighit/US PR team what to do...as if Bighit/PR are not professionals lol. Either it's their decision, or most likely there is some sort issue they're working on to solve this problem.

This plus ppl demanding that BH pay for the rights for the video to be reuploaded while they sort the new licensing deals out because they “refuse to waitâ€. Someone literally said to me tonight “if we don’t teach them how do do these things then how will they learn†and “we have to educate ourselves about how these things work, why can’t BH show us some basic competency and step up and do their job instead†like they don’t have a whole ass US based record company they work with.

They’re now demanding a hotline to be able address these issues with bighit direct.

At this point I have muted all convos and shut down the bird app for the night.

We are literally one of the best fed fandoms and the demanding and entitlement that comes from some reallllllly grinds my gears sometimes lol.

about the ones on the shows, im pretty sure all (or a lot at least) of them get taken down by the channel eventually. it is kinda annoying to me bc for other artists i like theyve performed on those shows, and having to find bootleg video of it can be a pain. at least on some shows ive noticed this is the case. if they want to, ig they could upload the perfs to their official channel if they want this not to happen.

How do you know BH & Columbia is sorting out licensing deals for the right to distribute these US TV performances?

BTS has been going on US TV since 2017, why is it taking them 2 years to do the minimum?

Other BBMA performers uploaded their perfs almost immediately following the show, it took BH a week for a shaky fancam.

SNL's BWL is removed when it's such a great and iconic performance, the whole point of TV appearances is to expand their reach to new audiences and the GP, what good is it if they continuously limit the access to it?

This isn't even exclusive to US, their comeback show performances and Go Go & Mic Drop perfs with over 100m views were never properly uploaded too.

What's wrong with armys pointing out BH's obvious slack when it's harming BTS?

oh ok. checked some old SNL performances and they are up on artists' channels. with vevo stamped on them. BBMAs ones are also with vevo, so either everybody partners with them or what satoori wrote might make sense

Sometime it's fine to point out, while other times I just have to laugh

This is one of them laugh.png

I don't agree with managearmys most of the time but this has been culminating into a major annoyance over a long time now.

It is negatively impacting bts, non fans were looking for bts' bbma perf but only found shitty small screen reuploads on yt, bh did shit until the momentum effectively died. Same thing happened to their other award show performances.

Acquiring rights might be costly but it will only benefit bts in time. So I am glad armys are vocal about it, bh has been sitting on this for 2 years.

I think the Vevo thing was once mentioned on the main thread. I can't remember who it was though. But yea I think they were on to something about that. Whatever is going on it's not as simple as we think, and a lot more complicated. It's possible Bighit disagree with the Vevo process right now and/or there is something to do with FLO and/or the future of music distribution for kpop in general

Bighit should file a lawsuit to get back all the money they're paying the US PR team. Just hire Armys instead lol

Bighit/PR team ain't dumb, imo.

We Armys have absolutely no idea what's going on behind the scenes and/or what type of deals Bighit/PR team are working on now. Deals/contracts that could benefit not just bts, but other future acts.

It seems like in america it's possible only if you have vevo. But i'm not sure what a vevo acount would mean for bts and if they agree with their terms so. .

But it's really annoying that they uploaded the performance only to put it on private afterwards. It seems like not the act of uploading it's the problem, maybe it's something else.

This has been in discussion since July 2018, so until this is in effect, armys should just be content with bts performances being deleted and missing opportunities to trend/go viral?

They're limiting access to the general public and new audiences, how is ensuring that bh maximises the benefits of all these appearances a bad thing? Armys have BTS' best interest at heart, god forbid we are vocal over it.

By all means, keep up the passive aggressiveness though â€â™€

Have you ever set up a company before? Let alone one big enough to enter the YT playing field?

By all means, don’t let common sense prevail.

It's obvious Bighit and the other companies do not agree with manager Armys right now, so...

I get it we Armys always want to help, but this is business and money. And sometimes deals and contracts take time to finalize. In the end, hopefully this new 'Korean Vevo' will all be worth it.
