music that was less known that you listen to gets promoted to the masses?

 

back when kpop wasnt so mainstream, i felt like it was "my" thing and it kinda felt weird knowing ppl irl starting to get into it... and i still have no idea why it makes me feel so weird. now i dont feel it anymore with kpop but,,,

its not like it was some unknown never heard before song but it feels so weird for him to play it cuz it was like... "my" song (???) and its a song that has like 3 mil plays on spotify which rlly isnt a lot

like clearly i dont own the song or whatever but it makes me feel weird that so many people are gonna know the song and listen to it now

 

does it make u guys feel weird when a song or artist you like starts getting popular? im happy for the artists and the songs getting recognition but it makes me feel like im losing something that i used to never have to share lol

i know what you feel, i used to feel that way about kpop too lmao, like 'that was my precious secret!!' cuz it made me feel cool liking something good that no one else knew about (edit: this was when I was younger and kpop/hallyu was making its way to SEA in around 2010)

 

i don't get that feeling anymore though! I'm not really sure what's changed within me but yeah lmao

Lol yeah I get what you're feeling as I was in your situation too.

You're good as long as you don't trash the new fans/the artists for being "mainstream" and "not real artist anymore". The feeling will pass soon.
