HOW THE HELL IS THIS ABOUT A HOMELESS MAN?!

Okay. So yesterday I did my CSEC (college entrance exam) for English B. After the exam I was walking home with one of my friends. So we were talking about paper 1. It's like this:...

ย

Friend: Did you see the poem about the homeless man?

Me: What? There was no poem about a homeless man

Friend: Yes there was. The one about the elephant

Me: Oh, the one about the mother elephant that lost her son?

Friend: Yes that one.

Me: But there was no homeless man in there

Friend: Yes there was

Me: You think me a idiot?

ย

Then I went home and see everybody posting about how the poem was actually about a homeless man. And some saying that they don't get how it's about a homeless man.

It clearly describes an homeless man in the second and third paragraph. It talks about him living in a public park, looking dirty with droopy skin and misshapen limbs, having struggles he carries on his back, threatening children who are teasing him with brocken bottles. In the last paragraph it talks about him always walking looking for a place, clearly a vagabond.

The only part that makes no sense to me is the first paragraph, it doesn't seem to fit the narrative, unless maybe they are implying the homeless man was a kidnapped child whose mother mourns his disapereance, which would then connect to the last bit where it says he's walking around looking for her.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'm the one who is wrong.

It literally says "This man...."

ย

And everything after that's also pretty direct to the point...

ย

Oh, I get it now. Thanks.

Do you even English?

Yes, I do English.

The lost of the mother could be symbolic, maybe he was drugadict and was expelled from her life, maybe bad company changed his son and he ran out and ended like this; they pretty much could cohexist in the same time but being A)- the son death to the mother; B)- the son not being able to reagroup his family
