tide 14,243 Posted May 11, 2019 Share Posted May 11, 2019 a lot of people don't know this but they switch off between "bright" and more "fantasy" concepts every comeback, only breaking the chain for special comebacks like aing (a remake album) and BAM (a subunit debut). cupid - bright closer - fantasy liar liar - bright windy day - fantasy << aing - special >> coloring book - bright secret garden - fantasy << bam - special >> remember me - bright sswfl - fantasy we actually do call them "day and night" concepts since that's how binnie referred to them once. (the concepts can also be represented by our fan colors of pink (bright/day), yellow (special), and blue (night/fantasy). but that's more of a fan theory) but you're right, it's not as break-neck as other groups, but it's definitely there and done on purpose. it helps them establish their sound/aesthetic, while also bringing something different so fans arent surprised, but aren't bored either.
