Even casual fans who loved episode 3 will fucking HATE the ending once Jon kills Dany lol. ANYONE can pull random deaths out their ass theres nothing clever about this. Its stupid meaningless "shock value."

 

I'm not even going to watch this season after the spoilers, just going to wait for the fandom to pull through with some high quality fanfics that actually follow the canon of GRRM's work.

Its fucking ridiculous. Jon killing Dany makes the entire theme of Ice and Fire into a fucking joke. this isnt even funny, its just pure garbage writing

It's not even that. I would be fine with Dany dying if there was a satisfying build up to it. It was always obvious to me that Jon is THE central character in ASOIAF, being "Ice and Fire", as he is both a Stark and Targ. The quality of writing as of late though is beyond atrocious. It's like the writers forgot what character development and build up even means. How on earth they ever thought that a "bittersweet" ending constituted Dany going mad at the last minute killing everyone and then having Jon kill her is beyond me. 

 

Not to mention the dozens other illogical character choices over the past 3 seasons. Plot convenience and plot armor of some characters.. Inconsistencies between scenes... So disappointing. GoT went down in quality after season 4 but that could happen. It was still quite good with VERY good highs. But in season 7 something changed and they just lost sight of everything that made it great. I went from waking up early to watch The Long Night to skimming through episode 4 being a drag. Quite an accomplishment..
