I think BTS has reached the treasure national status for real, so I'm really confused why they would dismantle them to go to army

They reached to the Beatles and maybe surpaced them........ I really think SK think they can replicate them, but not even in 100 years they will be able to be this relevant worldwide with something (if you think BTS as a brand) nationalist; I need anwsers in a logical way because i'm ....

I mean I do think if athletes or worldwide famous musicians can get exemption there's no reason why K-Pop groups who bring a ton of money and prestige to Korea shouldn't.

but realistically it's not gonna happen, they'd get too much negativity for that. I assume the Korean government would probably grant them exemption (this is a very lucrative industry) but they wouldn't take it due to the backlash.

Is this the new way anti's work? Try to get BTS hate by faking concern about enlistment?

Every week new threads would pop up about BTS' enlistment. They're all not making it any less obvious that they want them to go away as soon as possible...

BTS still don't surpassed The Beatles.

Yes they are the most successful korean group of the history but for being compared with The Beatles they should be conquer the general public of all ages.

Muggles of kpop, men and old people still don't consider them bigger than Beatles.

the public has to say that tbh

no group has manage to hold a candle

to what the Beatles has done

and didnt bts already say they are serving no matter what?

considering that the GP(America) think every asian boy is BTS (yes it is kinda racist)

they havent accomplish to be known

across all ages like the Beatles did

BTS themselves, Jin especially said he will go serve when the time comes. I dont get why is it still a discussion when they themselves want it.
Another note, BTS isnt bigger than the Beatles. Do you have any idea how huge the Beatles was, anyway?

Regardless of whether or not they'll enlist I wish people would stop the "THEY WANT TO ENLIST" argument.

They're Korean, they would get massive backlash for just saying they didn't want to enlist so we honestly don't know how much truth there is behind the sentiment.

They'll probably serve but considering that it's not a choice we'll never know their real motives for it.

Actually I'm Army and I really couldn't understand this nonsense too.

BTS solely bring 3.6 billion USD out of 5 billion USD annually brought by an whole K-pop industry.

It would be extremely stupid NOT to use it and instead of it to send guys to MS. The boys can be more useful to S.Korea as an idol-group. As idols they bring billions while as soldiees their worth is only thousands of usd (I'm being optimistic).

But just look what is happening right now in S.Korea. All these bullshit, absurd and nonsense which uncovered all wrongdoings in the country.

Nothing is done here right. Asian Tiger turned out to be another corrupted Asian country.

(Btw I'm not mocking. I'm bitter. I'm in pain cos I hoped that all that "Asian Tigers" myth could be real... that there were some hope for the other not-so-developed Asian countries... they would be our future if we didn't give up. But all this "developed" image turned out to be just a flashy shiny showy façade. İt's real tragedy for us.)

So now... I hope S.Korea will remain blind deaf and dumb, and will send the boys to the military. Their government doesn't deserve anything good unless they end their corrupted system.

P.S. last week S.Korean president visited our country. They are going to make big investments in our country. İn exchange of some resources. And I hate it. I don't want them here. As much as I love our local Korean diaspora.

(Mb İ'm little drunk, forgive me please.)

To think that any artist/group in the world can ever surpass the Beatles is just ridiculous. Other than sales, which no modern artist can achieve imo(600M is crazy tbh), the Beatles have managed to stay alive through their songs and legendary albums for 48 years after disbandment. You can try to compare the two again in 50 years. But I do agree with you, BTS shouldn't have to go to the army. Unless they want to, of course.

Not at people saying they want to entlist. If they would get the chance to do so without getting any backlash and hate by koreans they would not serve, the majority of korean men would not serve. But thats not the reality as they would receive exactly that so they had no other option then to say they want to serve.

Korea has his Laws and they will stick to it, breaking the Law for an exception could harm the goverments authority. They either have to include Idols who's achievements contributed into the nations economy into their exemptions list in general or they will leave everything the way it is.

Of course i wish korean men could choose rather to so serve or not, but with North Korea as a neighbor no chance.

But i doubt that they will ever do that so they will serve anyway. If they want or not.

And No lmfao, they haven't surpassed the Beatles. If they are still a household name in almost all age Groups after over 40 years of disbandment in almost every country on this Planet and everyone calling them a legendary Group, then we can talk about them surpassing the Beatles.

I believe there are some mistakes I wasn't aware of but since my engrish ability is limited I only able to fix those with asterisks.

On topic : as if sk wouldn't let it as an opportunity to drag the group back and forth to the hell. Do please remember that idols in general are still seen as the lowest rank in entertainment world, athletes being #1.
