If you had any conscience of the love that your fans gave you, then shouldn't you admit to what needs to be admitted and surrender to your wrongdoings? Your dongsaeng was saying how you were wrongly accused but you went around selling girls to earn money, so you must at least have some shame right? These girls are the dongsaengs of their oppas and have their own family too.. all this for money... how can you be this shameless?

I don't think that Seungri stole money from his company, more like he's stocking up money to protect the company. Do you think that Yang Hyunsuk is that dumb to get his money stolen?

Police believe the singer won with a bunch of investors such as Burning Sun and took out 2 billion won. A suspicion of sexist treatment for Japanese investors was also raised, but the police investigation denied all charges. But the police called the victory 18 times and decided to apply for a warrant next week.

It is Lee Soo-jin.

Wow, when a google translate can give a more accurate and meaningful translation even if much like the original article there are some confused facts.

So what people need to know is the police this week wanted to apply for an arrest warrant and it failed because their investigation is incomplete and because Seungri has fully co-operated in attending all investigations (aka has not refused to attend or tried to flee) it's not necessary to get an arrest warrant (the other reason a court may issue one).

It's incomplete because the Japanese person they have been accusing of having prostitution services but never interviewed came forward this week voluntarily and demanded they be part of the investigation (since they're being slandered) and debunked those claims since he was with his wife and everyone else in the group Seungri hosted also went as couples and they all have proof (presumably plane tickets etc.)

Since Seungri only shared a pornographic image (not a molka- illegallly taken footage/image) that charge is not going to go anywhere but the police want to arrest him on the claim that doing so will allow them more power (like using Psycological pressure) to interrogate him and they think it will lead to more evidence in other cases.

The 2 [edit] million Won their trying to accuse him of embezzling as stated in the article is -based on an information that follows:

On 11th, police booked Choi Tae young, a 59 yo former CEO of CW industry, on charges of embezzlement and raided the company. CWr industry is cited as the actual owner of the club, for a 42% stake in Burning Sun.CW industry is also the operator of the golf course Lakewood Country Club, where the so-called "bean noodles" controversy erupted in July last year against employees of food and beverage consignors. The case was started by CW industry owner Lee Jun Bae, who protested, "Why is bean noodle noodles thick?" and a staff member of Shinsegae Food a consignment company, resigned. Lee owns 69.9 percent of the power industry. Late last year, Shinsegae Food terminated a contract with its 10 year long-term customer, Lakewood Country Club, and withdrew all of its employees. In August last year, Lee was also known to have granted his chauffeur a facelift on the grounds that CW industry is one of the leading domestic hotel leisure companies operating hotels Le meridien and Lakewood Country Club. If we dig into the roots of the CW industry, you will see another company. Dongwon Coal Mine Co. South Korea's No. 1 private coal mining company. Dongwon Coal was established in 1963 by late Dongwon Group CEO Lee Yeon, founder of the company. It grew rapidly in the first oil crisis in the 1970s. It surpassed 1 million tons of annual coal production in 1974 and 4 years later, it became the country's No. 1 coal mine in 1978. n the late 1980s, as the coal industry entered a phase of specification, Dongwon Tanjwa sought survival with its hotel business. It was Lee's second son, Lee Jun bae, who spearheaded the hotel business during the time. In charge of the CW industry, he entered the hotel business by acquiring the Nambu Seoul Hotel in Jeju in 1986 and then the southwestern Seoul Hotel in 1987. In 1997, he opened Ritz-Carlton Seoul, becoming a strong right-hand man for his father. When Lee Yeon passed away in 2003, Lee took over the entire industry. In fact, they only picked the group's "real one". His elder brother Lee Hyuk bae, former chairman of Dongwon Group, has diversified his business by taking sea sand after suffering difficulties after coal mines were shut down in accordance with government policies in 2004. In 2016, however, the company sold its entire stake in the company to Double Investment Finance and handed over management control. At that time, Lee was known to have opposed the sale of the group, but failed to narrow differences with his brother and split up. In 2017, Lee Jun Bae signed with Marriott International to open Ritz-Carlton as Le meridien Seoul. At that time, CW industry decided to have a club in the basement of the hotel, which is BS. CW industry reportedly borrowed 1 billion won in the name of the facility to BS, and only received 16 million won in monthly rent, which is much cheaper than the 29 million won market price. This is why CW Industry would have been deeply involved in BS operation beyond only simply providing a space. CW industry has recently seen a red light on its management performance. It posted 39.2 billion won in sales and 15.8 billion won in net loss by end of Sept last year. The impact of the hotel's opening in 2017 remains. As the deficit grew, the CW industry rushed to find a cash cow. According to the investment banking industry, CW industry issued 17 billion won in corporate bills in February based on payment guarantees from a commercial bank. IB industry sources say the CW industry would not have been able to issue CPs without the commercial bank's Police believe the power industry embezzled hundreds of millions of won in funds by running BS, and plan to carry out a related investigation. [https://www.hankyung.com/society/article/201904129897i]"

- The police belief that the club was a front for siphoning off money (I don't understand where or to whom) but it seems they think the club itself was more of a scheme to aid the business man from the power company who had been going through a down time (having to sell business and shares elsewhere).

To quote another article: "Police grilled Seungri over the allegations for 16 hours. The investigation found that Seungri pocketed 200 million won separately from Burning Sun, & claimed that he used that as a fee for the use of the Monkey Museum brand but police are reportedly viewing it as an unusual deal"

The context of this is Seungri's club Monkey Museum closed down (it was non smoking club) due to not making enough money but Burning Sun had a Monkey Museum Zone in their club and the contract paid for using the copyrighted brand name Monkey Museum (which is associated to Seungri's name so works like endorsement.) 200M won is like  US $172K (for comparisons sake Beyonce endorsing Pepsi is a $50 million contract.)

I don't know and so speculating that given the other people with shares in the club seem to be in on this money scheme, Seungri must be as well but unlike with everyone else there is no evidence or paper trail to substantiate it.
Again presumably their investigating all contracts to find where the money disappeared to.

In addition the police have supposedly got testimonies from the prostitutes and are now refining the details of  arrest warrants etc.

Finally, "According to police, a total of 4 charges are being filed against SR (prostitution, embezzlement, distribution of illegal material, violation of Food Sanitation law).

They say the key to securing an AW would be the prostitution & embezzlement charges" [https://m.entertain.naver.com/read?oid=277&aid=0004461373 â€¦]

That is as much as I can say at this moment but can people doing these translations please at least try to be accurate instead of misleading.

Nothing has been confirmed so it is wrong to say "The police states that Seungri has embezzled 2 billion won." They do not say that and you're only making this worse and more confusing.

The 2 billion Won their trying to accuse him of embezzling as stated in the article is -based on an article about the owner of the power company- likely money someone else embezzled, if there was any evidence he embezzled such an amount of money he would be arrested already since the prostitution investigation keeps hitting walls (it's going forward with Yoo and the lady in her 40s previously mentioned in other reports but nothing so far links to Seungri otherwise they wouldn't have failed to get an arrest warrant by now.) The police belief that the club was a front for siphoning off money (I don't understand where or to whom) but it seems they think the club itself was more of a scheme to aid the business man from the power company who had been going through a down time (having to sell business and shares elsewhere).

I don't know and so speculating that given the other people with shares in the club seem to be in on this money scheme, Seungri must be as well but unlike with everyone else there is no evidence or paper trail to substantiate it.

With the embezzlement they were trying to tie it to Seungri having a DJ booth in Burning Sun and his own branding which was paid for by contract by the club, as a subcontract. Again presumably their investigating all contracts to find where the money disappeared to.

That is as much as I can say at this moment but can people doing these translations please at least try to be accurate instead of misleading.

The google translate ver is even more damning against Seungri.

Police "believing" that Seungri embezzled 2 billion won, is much worse

than Police "saying" that Seungri embezzled 2 billion won.

Bc it means that even the investigators are convinced abt Seungri's guilt.

than Police "saying" that Seungri embezzled 2 billion won.

If you want to interpret it that way go ahead,  it's not my place to tell you what to think.

If you do what to think, consider:

People believed the world was flat and investigated- they were pretty convinced too.

So the translated version writes that the police stated that Seungri has stole 2 billion Won. This means they have evidence that he took that amount of money illegally.  It's stated as a fact.

Whereas the police believing Seungri stole that amount of money does not imply there is evidence but  that they are looking for it - hence they're still investigating.  No one would investigate anything if they did not believe there was reason to but can still find after investigating that belief is unfounded or untrue.

Belief can either mean they have some basis OR they want it to be true so are working off bias. Given how other articles have police statements talking about wanting an arrest warrant to appease public sentiment does bring to the table that it's not guilt or justice their pursuing but public appeasement, which has been aggravated from police corruption scandals and because of Media over exposure (we are talking 50 articles a day at it's peak, even from the same Media company like Chosun, and even up to this day there are articles simply recycling the same information but throwing his name in for clicks). The media overexposure on Seungri coincides with other implications of top people in several of these other business or owners of these business being involved in sex crimes and murders themselves. By whipping up a frenzy over Seungri it makes him a great scapegoat since when he's arrested a lot of the energy and momentum will likely die down as well. It's already happened thrice since this really took the spotlight.

Before burning Sun many older Gangnam clubs such as Arena were being investigated but without much media attention. Then the assault issue in Burning Sun blew up but what thrust it into the lime light was Seungri's name and several reports misreport Seungri as the owner or name drop him inappropriately and since then his name has been used to derail attention from developments regarding investigations into the club and other clubs or business, there are a few articles dotted about and the odd reminder of "Don't forget about Burning Sun" but they're in a sea of news about Seungri.

Likewise with the JJY chats, once the celebrities were flaunted in front of the cameras,  there has been hardly any news about the non celebrities even as several victims have come forward implicating them as their rapists.  Interest basically died down once the celebrity was behind bars with the occasional update about them.

Even with Yoochun's case, he's arrested and still in the news but what about Hwang Hana? Chilling at home, posting on IG.

Likewise while Seungri was in the police station for hours and hours for a long time the actual CEO's of Burning Sun were free to roam even with positive drug tests.

Is this about criminals and justice or about wash these scandals under the rug by pinning them on public figures. Doing so seems to benefit the rich business people and the police as scrutiny dies down and their lax investigations go unquestioned.

Also the police's "beliefs" have not had a good track record:

The police believed Seungri gambled overseas - was not true.

The police believed Seungri colluded with police- No evidence.

The police believed the Japanese business investor Ceo A (Aoyama) had sex with prostitutes - we was there with his wife.

The police believed chats with Seungri were ordering prostitutes for an investor - turns out he was considering renting some girls time to hang out with his female friend visiting Korea so she wouldn't be alone.

The police  (and reporter Kang)  believed his birthday hosted prostitutes- the 8 entertainment ladies that went, only 2 had voluntary sex and 1 was with her boyfriend whom she went with and Seungri also paid their travel fees as well.

The police believed "Meat and Candy" were innuendos for drugs- Seungri's drug tests came back negative 3 times.

What is also revealing is how when the prostitution allegations are dispproved they jump to another completely unrelated event, first it was talks in the chat-it should also be noted Seungri was not in the Molka chat and has no charges of taking illegal footage that was again another misinformation spread by the media that he admitted to viewing Molka,- when they were disproved they jumped to a dinner, that has been dropped with no follow up, so they jumped to his Birthday party, when that was instantiated they jumped on some Japanese investors and that is being challenged at least as far as Seungri is concerned.

Likewise the allegation of embezzlement has jumped around from some 9K pocket cash to this 2 million won deal.

When this happens it looks less like the Police have a solid reason and basis for these crimes so much as they want them to be true and there is prove this is the case.

The police have  said the reason they're pursuing embezzlement and Prostitution is to arrest him so they can then use him for other investigations.

So arresting Seungri is a means to an end and they're trying literally any means necessary they just need something serious enough to obtain his detainment. Supposedly it's because they want to put him through "psychological pressure" which involves stripping away the detained human rights to coerce information out of him- soft torture basically. I am not making this up.

However I believe they claimed that they want Seungri because they believe he knows information about "bigger cases" as more leverage to get an arrest warrant and going back to my earlier point, appease the public and media, ultimately saving their own face (and it's not the first time we've seen the Police throw others under the bus rather than face their own incompetence, even if it risks the persons life).  Seungri's willingness to keep going back to the police 18 times and sit through 16 hours of questioning as a suspect or a witness prevents such a drastic necessity but it keeps the police in a position where they look like clowns. It's been several times that they said they were "finally" going to get the arrest warrant and each time they did not.

The way the investigation into Seungri has dragged on is also questionable.  The weird tangents like Halloween costumes and reading into words to "imagine" scenarios of crime seem like huge time wasting exercises especially when people in other countries find the information within hours and employees post testimonies instantly but the police still take weeks to "confirm".

It's also discrediting when the supposed lead reporter changed her story three times over the allegations of Seungri providing sexual services and she's since been dropped since all her scenearios have gone no where, and her last accusation over the Birthday party devolved into "imagining" such a set-up meant prostitution had to have occurred.  That is some Gestapo level finger pointing, imagine having your life and reputation unheaved because someone imagined you did something criminal and then edited your private information (they illegally obtained) out of context and into chats with actual criminals to further make you out into a rapist.

Stepping away from it involving a Kpop artist or even a man, that's inhumane and should be against human rights and if you don't see why, that is very troubling on a deeply moral level. No one should have that amount of power and it's even more questionable why they waited 2 years when there is clear evidence of rape, so clear that the perpetrators pretty much went straight to jail within weeks. Also where are those other "big fish"?

The most naive think you can do is trust the police or media fully because they are the ones full of contradictions and changing their stories, a classic hallmark of liars. As well as purposefully omitting facts and information- including not interviewing important witnesses such as the supposed recipients of the alleged prostitution who have subsequently show they can provide evidence to back up their stories. Again, weird time wasting and strange reliance on blaming foreigners.

One of the more alarming supposed things reported was the police saying they were investigating how to investigate foreigners. I could hardly believe Korean police would not have protocols for this since their laws enable them to arrest their citizens for breaking Korean laws in foreign countries- surely that would still require questioning foreign witnesses.

Admittedly I would not be so invested as to scrutinize to the extent I have if it was not Seungri but that doesn't change that being more skeptical and invested has revealed extremely poor practice in journalism if not outright violation of human rights and more corrupt and questionable behaviour and processing by the police.

The police's belief has Seungri going back into the station 18 times at this point.

The lack of facts and evidence has Seungri walking out 18 times.

Seungri's lawyers is a ex-police man and he thinks Seungri has a strong case and the police and Media are playing a game. (Compare to other lawyers who dropped their clients).

What is more Seungri's business partners in Burning Sun have arrest warrants against them, Seungri has left YG, Seungri's other business partners are foreigners with at least 1 willing to be investigated by police himself to prove his innocence and publicly show that, His rich friend who was the original center of the prostitute allegation publicly wiped her hands of being involved. Seungri's already had to give up ownership of businesses in anticipation of his enlistment. On top of that a number of Media  companies like Chosun, and SBS owned by even bigger companies connected to the Chaebols are excessively determined to make everything about him and push for his arrest.

He's not in a position of power so as time goes on, it's looking more and more, that maybe what is keeping Seungri out of jail is the truth.
